Best restaurant , great cuisine, at a fair price!

Great restaurant , great cake , great food !
We were closed. 6 people for the goose menu there !
Over and over again at the same time for 10 years!
The goose menu 4 people with plenty of side chews at 140€ , fresh from the oven on the table !
It doesn't get any better!
The dumplings, red cabbage , Brussels sprouts all abundant and on request free of charge look-up !
It tastes like home with Grandma!

Not worthy of 4 stars for us!!

We were at the Hotel Restaurant Wald Cafe from 27 Dec. to 30 Dec.2025 in Bonn-Holzlar and would like to add that we were very disappointed with the unsociability in the huge restaurant!! We dined there the first evening, the soup was lukewarm (was on the final bill despite our complaint about this) and the large dining areas were stone cold despite all the days freezing outside. At the reception was always an outside door open so that the dining areas could not get warm. For a 4 star hotel you can expect a warm dining stay at these temperatures!!! There were also pluses: service friendly and helpful, breakfast fine and very extensive in a warm room, bedroom and bathroom also fine. Unfortunately, this opportunity for us, especially in winter is not worth repeating.

No Aircon but good breakfast

Good beds,
Sat on the top floor without air conditioning with only a tilt window. Not necessarily useful if you want to ventilate and keep large flies out.

Passing through with dog

Excellent place to stay if you are traveling there or back with your dog and you are with a dog. Nice walk next to the hotel/restaurant. The rooms need an update but they are clean and the beds are good. The food is fantastic and the service is excellent.

Weekend trip

The hotel is in a quiet location on the edge of the forest. Nice location for walks. The room is well furnished, but not modern and very large, the bathroom has everything you need (body lotion, nail file, Q tip, etc.) There was a bottle of water on the table to welcome us. Since the weather was very nice that day, we wanted to drink our coffee outside on the terrace. Unfortunately there were not enough tables set up and the terrace could have looked more inviting. The dinner was very good, as was the breakfast. Some of the staff were friendly, some unfriendly. It was good for a weekend.
