Nice place in great surroundings for relaxing days....

The staff is very nice and accommodating, we were impressed. We had asked for a room with beautiful views, got it too. Our room in the 2. St. (No. 31) was big enough, the balcony invited you to linger on nice bet, it was wonderful!
The big drawback: Too small a bath, which even we - slim people - had trouble moving. Something has been overlooked in spatial planning.
Good cuisine, but the menu for package holidaymakers (with HP) can make management easier, instead of double appetizers just a soup with the option salad is enough, we would have been fully satisfied with it.
The great tip for a detour to Wissembourg in France got not from the hotel, but from the very nice lady in the tourist information. We made this day trip by train, first by bus from St. Martin to Edenkoben, then by train to Wissembourg. Nice little town in the neighboring country, highly recommended!

A hotel that has come of age

The house has come of age, just arriving at the parking lot gave us an idea of what to expect. Were warmly welcomed with the hint that there is no room service, way to the room was like a way back in time
Room door scraped, the junior suite was renovated, but also already worn out again, headboard of the bed abraded, balcony ceiling peels off, all not a pretty sight, including hose of the air conditioning, which protrudes unprofessionally from the wall
We were there for the New Year's Eve arrangement 4 days, we were greeted in the room with mineral water and bags of cookies and salad sauce , the dinner would have been good if it had been served warm, a wine tasting with previously buffet of Palatine cuisine was disastrously organized , on the shot was the one who was too slow at the buffet, the one who got nothing more. On New Year's Eve, however, we were surprised with a very good menu, served hot, good taste and the staff very nice
Views of fireworks were great, the location is perfect and you could really make something great out of this hotel

Overall ok, but with room for improvement

First of all, big praise to the staff! The Service was really outstanding – whether at breakfast, at the bar or in the restaurant. Friendly, attentive and absolutely professional. One can only say: Top class!
The hotel itself has been under its belt for a few years, but it was immaculately maintained. Everything clean, windows to open, stable Wi-Fi – there is nothing to complain about here.
Unfortunately, the kitchen is very different. Something urgently needs to happen! Once we were served a liver that was simply inedible. Then again the burger came with completely burned rolls and at the Palatinate plate the tiny piece of Saumagen was also charred black. You can’t do that – certainly not in this price range!
Fortunately, the Service was able to catch the bugs confidently every time: quick fixes, exchanges, even a digestif as compensation – really great. But as much as that saved the two evenings, the bottom line remains: The kitchen needs to do its homework, and urgently.

Mediocre

The website photos and website itself are much better than the hotel itself. An old but reasonably clean hotel with some innovations here and there that cannot disguise the fact that it is an old building. The room is small but fairly recently renovated. A bed of 160x200 is not really of this time, but more than that does not fit. The breakfast is very mediocre, no fresh fruit or the like. and coffee is in a jug on the table and that coffee has been there for a while! The rooms do have an unparalleled view of the valley from a tiny balcony with broken chairs. The restaurant is absurdly expensive for what they offer. Although very friendly service and good wines, the food is mediocre and very overpriced. Next time in the Palatinate, let's look further.
