EXCELLENT HOTEL IN PILAR

Practical and very useful especially if you have to be there for something at the Austral, good breakfast and a restaurant in line with the area and good prices

Balance between comfort and challenges in my hotel stay

My experience was somewhat bittersweet. As a guest traveling alone for health reasons, specifically for a transplant check, which I clarified when booking, I expected a comfortable and safe stay. The assigned room was located outside the main building, through a metal hallway and with access from a staircase that leads to the parking lot. This location was not only uncomfortable, but also unsafe. Additionally, I felt that my status as a solo traveler and my health condition were not taken into consideration, in the middle of a very rainy day. This lack of attention to my special circumstances made my short stay even more stressful.
I have no complaints about the rest. Very comfortable, the hygiene in the room was impeccable; Everything was very clean and welcoming. The staff showed great kindness and professionalism at all times and the food in the restaurant was exquisite and abundant.
I hope that the hotel takes this constructive criticism into account to improve the experience of future guests, especially those who are traveling for health reasons or find themselves in situations similar to mine. Empathy and consideration towards guests are fundamental aspects to guarantee a pleasant and satisfactory stay

If you don't look hispanic they will try to con you

I arrived and checked in early Am on the 19th. I had paid for my stay starting the 18th so i could check in at 8am. I originally booked through booking.com that stated free cancelations, until i had booked and was made aware that my reservation was non refundable. I arrived and the room was ok, I had one small tattered towel and one small floor rug tattered towel. the bed was cheep with a foam topper. After a few days of barely using the room i decided to check out early. They charge you an added tax on the room, so i figured that i would save a little money by checking out early on the taxes. When i went to check out the boy at the counter was not very helpful. I speak enough spanish to get by and I had my translator. At first he advised us that we had to pay an additional $400 USD claiming taxes and having my translator there. Then he wanted an additional $300. I pulled up my original reservation with my quoted price. Then he told me I owed an additional $200. I had called a car and told him i was not paying extra considering i was leaving 5 days early that i had to pay for. my car came and i paid the $9thousand some pesos that were originally quoted and went to my car. The guy them came out and advised me and my translator to come back in. He advised we had to pay another $198 USD. I told him i would not pay anything and that i would call Booking.com since they spoke english and he could not explain anything to me well enough and they DO NOT have anyone who speaks english on staff. I went to my new location and the hotel called my driver insisting i come back immediately to pay. I then had to make an hour long international phone call to Booking.com where they tried to resolve the issues. Not only did I pay for a room i did not use for 4 days, I had to pay the taxes on the room for the entire 10 days and they ended up charging me an additional $40 USD for my translator to come and go. (not using my card i had requested to avoid international fee's) Some how $400 additional went to $40 when booking.com contacted them. They are crooks trying to scheme you out of any additional money possible. I will not go back or use them again. IF you are not spanish or at least spanish looking they will try to take advantage of you. BE WARE

Dear Jen,
You had explained the whole situation quite well but a little bit to your side of the story. What is clear is that you had reserved a NON REFUNDABLE RATE that you didn't wanted to pay. And also you reserve a SINGLE ROOM when then recepcionists always watched you coming and going with your translator. So the "extras fees" you say we had charged you arent so...we charged you what was logic and right: the amount of nights you had reserved on a begging with a NON REFUNDABLE RATE (it's always cheaper than a regular rate) and the extra passenger that wasn't registered because you had hired a SINGKE ROOM. We aren't crooks and we don't discriminate any passengers because of their look. But we do want to take care of our bussines the best way we can and we have the right of charging the rates we say we charge on our reservations. Just to be fare, "barely using the room" is to use the room. We cannot charge less money because you "bare used the room".
Too bad you couldn't enjoy our service. But on the future try to respect the services you hire.

Fair on the road motel

New recent year operated hotel. Room was large enough with convinient bathroom. Breakfast buffet fine. They should improve tidiness of the rooms and parking facilities. Near by is a big ans safe shoping mall.

very nice!

I`m here right now. It is a brand new hotel, opened up in November.
Very good value for your money.
The rooms are large and confortable, big windows, big tv, wifi. Nice pool to freshen up.
The restaurant is specialized in home made pastas, but everything is tasty and professionally served. A big plus for the kindness of all the employs, above everyone the owner Carlos.
