The place is very authentic and old school design, it's really fascination to stay in such a place, the location is amazing close to everywhere, also the staff members helped me a lot organizing many tours of mine, they have very cheap packages for every important place in Egypt

It is a scam

This place is part of a complete scam operation.
We ended up here after being “transferred” from Aura Downtown Hotel, who lied and claimed this was their second branch because of a supposed maintenance issue. The moment we arrived, the receptionist had absolutely no idea about our reservation and looked confused until I mentioned the name of the person who contacted us for the transfer. Only then did he suddenly understand what was happening, which clearly shows they do this regularly.
First of all, THIS IS NOT A HOTEL. It’s just one floor inside a very old, run-down building. The entire place smelled strongly of fresh paint because they were literally painting rooms while guests were staying there. The rooms were filthy, poorly maintained, depressing, and nothing like the photos or standards we booked for.
Then they asked us to CANCEL our original booking and pay CASH again at this place. If this was truly a “second branch” of Aura Hotel like they claimed, why would we need to cancel the first reservation and pay separately again? That alone proves how dishonest and shady this entire operation is.
At that point it became obvious this is a scam setup between both places: lure guests with decent hotel listings online, then transfer them last minute to a cheap, terrible building once people are too exhausted or stressed to search for another place and asking them to pay the same .
We had just arrived after an 8-hour bus trip and had an important appointment the next day, so we were completely trapped and had no time or energy left to change plans and find somewhere else at night. Otherwise, we would have left immediately.
The second I entered the room, I already knew I would leave a review exposing this dishonesty. Later, we found MUCH better hotels in Cairo for similar prices or even cheaper, which made this experience even more ridiculous.
Do NOT book here. Do NOT trust the fake “second branch” story. This place survives by misleading exhausted travelers.

I agree with other reviews about the staff being excellent, they are always ready to help. They got me some missing items at check-in and prepared breakfast quickly each morning. This hotel is reasonable value for a place to sleep, but there are several shortcomings:
- The location is in a high traffic area, at rush hour its very difficult to get ubers coming and going
- While the room was completely clean, there were some broken elements like the bathroom wall and the shower head and faucet were both loose, spraying water
- The rooms are all accessed by the lobby, meaning all of the noise from the lobby enters the rooms
The staff are great and will do everything they can to ensure you have a good stay, this is helped by the fact that it is such a tiny hotel. Just have realistic expectations that it will not be the most comfortable stay.
