Nothing Like the Photos – Save Your Money
If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would. Unfortunately, one star is the lowest rating available.
This was, without question, one of the worst hotel experiences my family has ever had.
We booked this hotel after seeing beautiful photos online and trusting a travel company that recommended it. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different. The online photos do not reflect the actual condition of the hotel.
From the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome. The reception staff were cold, unhelpful, and provided no information about meal times or the hotel’s facilities. We were simply handed the room key and left to figure everything out ourselves.
While waiting for our room, we had lunch at the restaurant. The unpleasant smell was noticeable immediately. The food quality and taste were extremely poor, and what concerned us most was the lack of hygiene supervision around the buffet. We witnessed guests handling food in unhygienic ways without any staff intervention, which made us lose confidence in eating there.
After seeing the restaurant, we refused to accept the room and spent more than three hours trying to find another hotel after a long drive. Unfortunately, everything nearby was fully booked, so we had no option but to stay for one night before leaving the next morning.
The room was in an unacceptable condition. The floor was sticky and covered with sand, the furniture was old and damaged, the bathroom had visible stains, the bathtub was yellowed, the towels were stained, and the bed sheets had stains, an unpleasant smell, and did not appear to have been properly cleaned.
The maintenance issues only made things worse. The room telephone did not work, so we couldn’t even contact Reception or Housekeeping. Several light bulbs were burnt out, and many electrical outlets were not functioning, making it difficult even to charge our phones.
The condition of the bedding was so disturbing that we refused to sleep on it. I took clean clothes out of our suitcase and covered one single bed because that was all we could manage. My husband, my 10-year-old son, and I ended up sleeping together on that single bed just to avoid direct contact with the hotel’s bed linen. We barely slept and couldn’t wait for sunrise so we could leave.
Trying not to ruin our son’s holiday, we took him to the beach. Unfortunately, it was overcrowded and far from relaxing. After hours of traveling, we asked if our child could have some ice cream, but were simply told the machine had closed at 4:00 PM. No alternative, no flexibility, and no empathy were offered.
Another disappointing issue was the condition of the cats roaming freely around the property. I have absolutely no problem with pet-friendly hotels—we regularly stay in hotels in El Gouna where cats are healthy, clean, and obviously well cared for. Here, however, one of the cats we petted was visibly infested with fleas and ticks. If the hotel cannot properly care for the animals, they should at least prevent direct contact between them and guests, especially children.
What disappointed us most was not just the poor condition of the hotel—it was the huge gap between what was advertised and what we actually experienced. We paid expecting cleanliness, comfort, and hospitality, yet received exactly the opposite.
I encourage anyone considering this hotel to read the negative reviews carefully and look beyond the promotional photos before making a booking decision. Our experience matched many of the concerns other guests had already mentioned.
We left after one night, relieved to be checking out. Sadly, this hotel ruined the beginning of what was supposed to be a relaxing family vacation, and it is not a place we would ever return to or recommend.

Unfortunately, the food and drinks were disappointing. The selection and quality were average at best, and we expected something better. The staff also didn’t make the best impression, as they often seemed unfriendly or looked unhappy.
On the other hand, we would like to praise the animation team. They were amazing, always smiling, and did a great job entertaining the guests. The evening parties and shows were enjoyable, with cocktails and drinks being served, creating a great atmosphere. The entertainment staff and everyone involved in these events were very kind and welcoming.
The biggest disappointment was the Wi-Fi. The connection was extremely poor throughout the hotel, including at the reception. If you need reliable internet during your stay, this is something to keep in mind.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel mainly to people looking for a relaxing vacation and who appreciate its excellent location. However, if you have higher expectations regarding the food, drinks, or customer service, you may end up disappointed.
