Recent stay

We couldn't say a bad word about this hotel, we called as we had an event planned and we couldnt find any other venue on such short notice, the price pitched was fantastic especially with the accommodation was offered included, on arrival we were welcomed with a stunning lounge, even though the hotel was advertised as 2 star, it had a very 4 star sense of the place, the staff were polite, well presented and extremely helpful, they came across very professional The tables were immaculate so we decided to stay in for dinner instead of exploring the town, we only ordered pizza as the kids wanted it and the food was fantastic and again the value very much matched the service. The rooms again were more than expected, as to what were advertised, we found them very spacious and absolutely immaculate throughout, for the price we found them great, The cleaners at the hotel always seemed to be hoovering, polishing or dusting and the staff always waiting to help, So all and all we were extremely happy with our visit and we will return to explore more of the beautiful town next time.

Had a great stay

The food was excellent the burger was so nice and I would go back there just for another bowl of the soup, the bed was so comfortable and I had a great night sleep, the shower was a good size for a bigger person and I found the experience of my stay relaxing.
The staff were very friendly and easily interacted with kids in the dining area and would recommend for anyone with kids that this is a friendly atmosphere for a family to get some food.
Now for the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5,
The tea was a bit strong and one bag would have been enough in those small pots, there was 2 bags in it,
And at dinner I asked for coke and was served a Pepsi, if the hotel doesn’t have coke that is fair but I should have been told when ordering as I am not a big fan of the Pepsi taste I would have ordered an orange instead, plus there is an ingredient in Pepsi that is not in coke that I know someone that has an allergy to, so as a safety precaution I would advise the staff the let customers know ye don’t have coke and stock a lower quality product such as Pepsi.
And the toilet paper was turned the wrong way.

Hello Joe S.
We felt the need to respond to your comments in light of the serious accusations you have made against our establishment.
Our Hotel has a largely international staff, and we treat all guests with respect and without discrimination based on where they are from. As an organisation, we disapprove of such behavior and would take any infringement of our procedures very seriously.
Our hotel is a welcoming place, and we have hosted many friends from Northern Ireland as customers, residents, or bar and restaurant guests throughout the years. We take exception to the comments you made regarding staff having negative issues with any customer due to their nationality or for any other reason. We also ask that you retract those statements on TripAdvisor.
During your stay, we believe that a request for Fireball at the bar was made and we do not stock that particular item. At no point were you refused service.
While the other guest in your party was not problematic, your behaviour was challenging. While ostensibly under the influence of alcohol in your car, whilst in our car park at midnight, your incessant and repeated use of the car horn was disruptive to the hotel and surrounding area.
If necessary, we will take this matter further giving the seriousness of the accusations put to our business.

Excellent overall!

Excellent all around! The rooms were spotless, comfortable and well-maintained all though old fashioned. Great value for the price, with impressive attention to cleanliness throughout the hotel. The noise level was minimal making for a very relaxing stay. The staff provided outstanding service being friendly, professional and always willing to help. The amenities were also top-notch and added to the overall experience. Highly recommend!

Terrible

This review relates to the Hotel itself. Checking in met with this taciturn rude staff member who we found out to be the owners son. The room was basic the toilet cistern kept overflowing. A broken hair dryer was requested to be replaced at 12pm eventually cleaner came after 2pm with replacement but was too late then to be used. The continental breakfast was to say the least shockingly bad. Cold tea and coffee no bread to toast 3 yogurts 5 multipack cereal boxes on a table. The whole display was similar to a tea break at a hotel conference. No staff available to assist at breakfast. Phone in room also not working. WiFi code scribbled on room card was barely legible. We checked out after just one day and owner is refusing to reimburse for unused day/night. When my partner announced we were leaving the owner became very aggressive and hostile when we explained our issues. He was in complete denial and called my partner a liar.
Absolute terrible customer service and deplorable quality of service and hospitality.
