Lovely Bundi

We had a wonderful stay at Haveli Elephant Stable run by Raj and.Meena. The home stay is next to Garh Palace, one of the most beautful palaces we've seen in Rajasthan; not as crowded, amazing wall drawings, green garden, and beautiful views of the surroundings. Meena was our (first female) guide in the palace, she knows a lot and her stories make the palace feel alive, it draws you back in history. Raj is very help with organising all kind of things. The rooms are basic, showers are hot, the garden is a nice place to relax. Bundi is lovely, very friendly and lots of places to eat delicious food and not as touristic. We highly recommend Haveli Elephant stay, the best value for money.

Amazing guide

We had an amazing guided tour of the palace with the owner of the Haveli Elephant stable. Apart from having very good English it was wonderful - and a first for us - to have a woman guide us round this amazing place. We can't recommend her more highly!

A Maharani in Bundi

I was there 20 years ago and I just felt like I was coming home. Raj and Neema are the most amazing hosts you can imagine. The rooms are not luxurious, but you can taste the real India. You will stay in the converted elephant samples of the palace. The queens used to be transported over the roof to their women's court. Neema is a real kitchen princess and Raj really does everything to offer you every comfort. Their daughters Ayushi and Bhavika are pleasant company to stay in.
In Bundi you can get to know the beauty of Radjasthan without being ambushed by annoying vendors. Moreover, Neema has completed her training to be a guide. She is the only female guide I have met in India. What a relief for a solo female traveler...

Amazing home stay experience

I can not say enough good things about our stay at the elephant Haveli. Raj, Neema and their family made us feel so welcome. They tell you that you are part of their family and make you feel that way. Raj welcomes you with flowers and Chai. Neema’s cooking is some of the best food I have had in India. Neema is an official tour guide for the palace. Her description of everything we saw at the palace made the place come alive. Their daughter drew a beautiful henna tattoo for my wife.
I believe that this family is in this business so that you feel very welcome when you come to Bundi and I really felt that. They are some of the kindest people that you will ever meet. It is families like this that make India so special.

Than Happiness

I had booked a 2 night stay at the property. I had to arrive at midnight, finally the bus was 2h20 late. I told Raj that I would notify him when the bus arrived in Bundi while giving him a fork at 2:30 in the morning. When the bus arrived at 3:20, it was waiting for me at the station with a Tuk Tuk, I thought I was dreaming, it had been waiting for me since 2am and fortunately for me because it was raining and the bus drops you off at the side of the road. Then I asked Raj for some small services, always ready and smiling. And finally I had a veg meal cooked by his wife, pure happiness and yet I am not vegetarian, little eggplants full of spice flavors a slab of lentils of spicy little vegetables all with a Chapati and a little sweetness based on coconut.
This is my experience in this establishment will forever be etched in my memory in front of such kindness and dedication.
