This authentic medieval castle turned into a 4-star resort is located in Upper Austria’s Danube Valley, just 20 km from Linz. Built around 1000, Schloss Mühldorf offers a 27-hole golf course. From 15 November to 18 November 2018, the propertys 27th Christmas market is taking place on site. Spa facilities include a sauna, a steam bath, and a relaxation room with a fruit and tea bar. You can also do a workout in the fitness room. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel. The spacious, individually furnished rooms offer cable TV, a minibar, and a bathroom with bathrobes and hairdryer. The garden features a natural swimming pond, and free private parking is available on site. Several restaurants are in the propertys vicinity. The Pesenbach Valley, a natural reserve, 5 small bathing lakes offering water skiing are a 5-minute drive away. Guests can use a large network of riding trails in the surrounding area. The centre of Feldkirchen and the Danube are 2 km away, while the Danube Cycling Trail can be accessed within a 10-minute ride. ATMOSPHERIC CASTLE HOTEL!

We have always wanted to stay at a castle, and the Schlosshotel Muhldorf afforded us that opportunity. The room was cosy with arches and a rounded ceiling. The bathroom was very good. The main attraction are the wonderful grounds that surround the hotel, not to mention the hotel's isolation. The only disappointment centred on the hotel having closed the restaurant for lunch and dinner. We really looked forward to having dinner and drinks in a castle, but, sadly, it was not to be. The staff were always attentive and helpful in a very country inn manner. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here, as it offers quiet respite away from the busy world.

Worth an Experienc

Beautiful residence in the surrounding of the farmlands
(Upperaustria)
Availability depending on actual season,
happening events or marriages .
Breakfast is available as buffet in the morning hours from 7-10 h

Bad communication and service

We booked a room for last weekend, 2 nights for €155. Wenn we arrived they found out they had placed the booking at the wrong data, but luckily there still was a room available, so we got that one. Ofcourse no problem, but the next day we found out we had to pay €156,- per night instead of 2 nights!
There was no room for discussion. And I think it is really weird that we have to pay double the price, wenn they made a mistake in their booking system..
We paid it, luckily we could leave after one night. But never again. Not costumer friendly at all.
The place of this Schloss was very nice, but the room was full of mosquitoes. Normally I would give this hotel a 6,5, but taking the costumer service in account it was a really, really bad experience.

No more diner available

A very nice hotel, big rooms, nice environment...
I ended up here during business trip as all hotels in Linz were fully booked due to several conferences.
I really liked the hotel, the rooms, the environment.
Breakfast was ok. Only issue, they don't serve lunch or dinner anymore since couple of months, only for events the restaurant is open. The Thalhammers bar and restaurant is luckily not that far (10 minutes drive max).

Very nice place

I spent one day during a business trip in Austria.
Rooms: Old style (proper castle room) but nice.
Cleaness: very good
Service: All essential services included
WIFI: Available for free
Restaurant: very good food and service
