excellent hotel in the heart of the Old City of Lublin

The hotel has a splendid location in the heart of the Old City of Lublin. Despite being located in an old building, the facilities are modern, the rooms are spacious, well designed and well equipped. The restaurant was also very good, we enjoyed a very good breakfast and also a fine dinner. The staff is helpful and friendly.

Enjoyable stay.

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, Thursday to Sunday. I had a lovely room at the front on the first floor. My two large windows looked directly at the old town and it was very nice sat at the window watching everything going on outside. Particularly on the Saturday night when the town celebrated it's yearly night of culture event. The breakfast each morning was very pleasant. With good service from the staff there. The only issue I had was that the safe in my room didn't work and the young lady on reception could have done more to help me with this, but choose not to. Putting that aside, it's a nice place to stay and i would stay here again.

Magical

The reviews I read on this site were mixed. I was drawn by the location. Walked out the front door of the hotel and you are in the best location. Exactly what I wanted. The hotel has so much charm. The rooms are very large. Mine faced the back and I was on the top floor. Unfortunately is was raining when I arrived July 9. However, I opened my window in spite of some rain coming in and had the lovely waft of a wood burning stove across the way. I bundled up (chilly for July) put up my umbrella and embarked on a walk going through the lovely archway a stone's throw away onto a busy walkway. I followed the crowd. When in doubt, I follow others. As a solo traveler, that's usually a good bet. After a long walk, I could see groups of colorfully dressed young people coming our way, I stopped and waited. It was a parade of countries, youths in their native dress. Unbelieveably wonderful, colorful and fascinating in the drizzling rain. Poor kids. Slovenia, Ukraine, U.S. (big surprise) Poland, Taiwan and many more. They marched to the center square and a program ensued and each country performed. Delightful.
But I digress.
The Avatary Miastra - extremely clean like all Polish hotels and apartments. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with delicious choices. Eggs cooked to your liking upon request. Amazing breads and sweets.
There is a restaurant which was busy all hours of the day/evening. Delicious looking pastries. A bar. Everything a person could possibly desire.
The elevator is delightfully a bit slow but oh so interesting.
Overall the entire hotel is impeccable and has remnants of old cave like structure.
There are two locations for rooms....facing the Old Town and facing the back of the hotel. Front is superior so if booking on sites like Booking.com you can choose superior for more $$$. However, facing the back is quiet and delightful and less $$$.
You can not go wrong with this fantastic hotel.
I would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel in a beautiful Old Town

Brilliantly sited hotel in the Old Town. Friendly welcome. Excellent breakfast, and decent food in the evening. Home brewed beers on the premises including great alcohol-free options.
Coped with having loads of English football fans very well (and actually there was no noise audible from the room).

Difficult access (pedestrian area) and side rooms that can be noisy

Certainly we can not be closer to the events of the city center!
The bathrooms are very modern, breakfast is well stocked.
The - : We had booked a superior room (facade). We were given the smallest room in this category when we had booked 6 months ago: Top floor, under the attic (half the room sloping anyway), with a single and small window, where it is almost impossible to see the place (height and setback of the roof).
We made our dissatisfaction known, without success to change rooms (the others below being much larger, bright). No pictures on Booking or on their website show the room we had...
Rooms on the "Place" side can be very noisy due to activities, as there are shows and people until about 11pm.
Similarly, it is difficult to reach the property by car, as the hotel is in a pedestrian zone (and there are people!!) and the police watch over the entrances to the area. You have to show a white leg to get there.
Very expensive parking for the place: in the city center, not closed, 300m from the hotel by pedestrian streets and very limited in number of places (6 or 7 max).
