Premium cottage, great location

Located in the quiet, historical district of Zakopane, which makes it perfect location - 15 min walk to famous Krupówki main street and major ski slope is 5 min walk from the house. Cozy place newly refurbished and fully equipped with everything you may need, including washing machine. The place is clean and warm. Unique folk decor typical for polish highlanders. Fast wifi. Sauna was great in the evening :) If you stay in the summer you may enjoy BBQ in the garden, in our case it was snowy winter. People working there are extremely friendly :)

Avoid this place

Firstly this place is not badly located, a 20 minute walk outside of Zakopane centre, the place looks great from the outside and is comfortably fitted out inside. We booked 5 nights at this place and for the first 2 nights we had a relatively nice time although we ended up creeping around the place trying not to make any noise as the walls are really thin - in fact the bathroom in the downstairs bedroom has a door into next door which whilst locked has duct tape over the ventilation holes (the place is 1no house divided after construction into 2no lettings according to the key holder). We ended up creeping around as we could hear EVERY word that the family next door were saying and could even hear them using the toilets(!), switching off lights, the tv etc. This wasn’t particularly an issue as next door were a family with children as were we, we didn’t normally hear anything after 22:30hrs at night and I assume from the sound of the whispering coming from next door they, like us were trying to be as quiet as possible. The following 2 nights were terrible as a group of 6 adults (Irish travellers) took over next door - on the first night we knocked the door at midnight to ask them to keep the music down as our son was in bed (the House Rules stated that no noise was to be made after 23:00hrs). Whilst we had some sympathy with the group due to the extremely thin walls they responded that “they were on holiday too”. They finally quietened down at approx 02:30hrs. The next night they returned from town and turned the music right up and were singing etc. When we asked them to quieten down (again after midnight) we were met with the same response and told to phone the police if we wanted, again we had some sympathy due to thin walls but we could hear each and every word from the group and we have a 7 yo boy trying to sleep. We tried to call the responsible key holder and got no answer (this was approx 01:30hrs) but did get a text saying that they were not the responsible person for the company anymore and to try ..X.. on such and such number. This time straight to answerphone - after about an hour of trying the given number we had no choice but to phone the police, when they arrived they spoke to the group next door along with ourselves which led to the music being turned off - the party carried on till 07:30hrs though. We moved into a hotel for the last night of our stay. The reason we moved out was due to the fact that we could not contact anyone from Tatrytop by phone or email - we have had no communication back from the company still even after multiple emails and voicemails. Absolutely terrible service which ultimately led us to have to spend extra money to actually get good nights sleep. Other issues were that the sauna did not work and there is no welcome pack, leaflets, advice, instructions for the use of anything in the property.
The main issue is the lack of customer service from Tatrytop who are the worst company we have had the misfortune to deal with on our travels anywhere in the world. AVOID THIS PROPERTY AND ANY PROPERTY RAN BY TATRYTOP (there are many in Zakopane).
Despite this negative review Zakopane is one of the nicest places that we have ever visited and we can’t recommend a visit here enough. Visit, just don’t stay here.
