Fantastic 7 Night Stay

We had a lovely 7-night stay at Hilton Barbados Resort — our first time here. We chose the hotel mainly because we’re Hilton Honors members, but the location was also a big plus. Having visited the island many times before, we already had a good idea of what we wanted to do during the day and where to head in the evenings.
The hotel itself is lovely and well appointed, with several bars and restaurants, multiple pools, and a beautiful beach. We stayed in a corner suite on the 3rd floor with views of the beach and bay — the room was fantastic and had everything we needed for a relaxing week.
We used most of the bars and restaurants (apart from The Grille). The food and service at The Lighthouse were excellent on both occasions we dined there. We also enjoyed several lunchtime snacks and drinks at Waters Edge Beach Bar, where the food, service, and drinks were consistently brilliant.
The real standout for us was the Careenage Rum Stop. Although we didn’t eat there, our evenings always started (and usually finished) with a few drinks. The staff were incredible — friendly, welcoming, and always delivering first-class service.
Overall, a fantastic stay with great food and drink, first-class staff, and a well-located hotel. We look forward to returning.

You Might Like It...

The property itself is beautiful; the beach is beautiful and all the areas seemed to be clean. The lighting at night is so warm and inviting. Check in is easy and the front desk staff is pleasant. The breakfast buffet choices are not good. And it's expensive. $30 plus gratuity that's already included for service that is not good and food that is even worse is insane. The lunch and dinner menus at the poolside restaurant make up for it. We chose to start the day with lunch at least one of the days we were there. The rooms are clean, though service can come quite late in the day sometimes. Opening the sliding glass door may take two people to do because they are old and heavy. On the beach, the sand dips kind of weird in the water so be careful. The waves are not rough at all on the beach that is closer to the shorter building. I didn't go on the other beach because there was too much seaweed for my liking. There are enough places outside to sunbathe either by the pools or on the beaches. Make sure that your umbrella is properly secured before you sit. An umbrella that was not secured toppled over when the wind blew and hit our daughter in the face. They responded slowly with first aid but did take an incident report that they will not give you. No further action though their negligence changed the culmination of our trip. Despite all of that, I would say it's a nice place, just prepare yourself to spend money. After all was said and done, we spent $1,200 (USD) on food and drinks for 5 people for 5 nights. It would have been more but we were compensated for 2 days of breakfasts and had complimentary breakfast for 2 daily due to having Hilton Gold member status, 2 of our kids ONLY drink water and we had 2 meals off property.

Excellent Stay at Hilton Barbados

I had an excellent stay at the Hilton Barbados, especially during a difficult time while i was there for a funeral. The staff was professional, welcoming, and courteous from start to finish.
A special thank you to Danika at the front desk, along with Andrea and Amelia from Housekeeping; your warm smiles, kindness, and professionalism meant a lot.
Thank you, Hilton Barbados, for the wonderful hospitality!

Disappointingly dated - read the small print

I left the Hilton Barbados feeling extremely disappointed. For a hotel that markets itself as a premium Hilton property, it falls well short of expectations.
The first thing that struck us was how dated the hotel feels. The décor throughout is tired and in need of significant refurbishment, and our room was much smaller than we expected for a resort of this standard. It simply didn't deliver the level of comfort or quality you would expect from an internationally recognised brand.
Breakfast was another major let-down. The selection was surprisingly limited, repetitive and lacked the variety normally associated with a hotel in this price bracket. It felt more like a budget hotel breakfast than one worthy of a beachfront Hilton.
The pool areas also require urgent attention. Parts of the pool surface are lifting and appear poorly maintained, which detracts from the overall experience. Even more frustrating is the design of the pool surrounds. The paving becomes so hot in the Caribbean sun that it literally burns the soles of your feet, making it uncomfortable to walk between the pool and loungers without rushing or wearing footwear. This seems like a fundamental design flaw for a resort where guests spend much of their day around the pool.
Perhaps the biggest disappointment, however, was the misleading presentation of the "Kids Stay Free" offer. While the headline suggests excellent value for families, what is far less obvious is that children's breakfast is not included. This important exclusion is buried behind several click-through screens during the booking process rather than being made clear upfront. By the time this becomes apparent, many families will understandably have assumed breakfast was included. It felt unnecessarily opaque and left us feeling misled.
The hotel undoubtedly benefits from a fantastic beachfront location and friendly staff, but these positives are overshadowed by tired accommodation, disappointing dining, poorly maintained facilities and a booking process that lacks transparency for families. There are better-value options in Barbados, and based on our experience, we would not choose to stay here again.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay! The entire staff was friendly, attentive and made our stay (2 weeks) completely enjoyable. We loved the spa, poolside bar and restaurant. Food was delicious and the atmosphere stunning. The excursions we booked easily, recommended dinner reservations in town were wonderful and we will definitely make a trip back in the future.
