Elegant and spacious 3-star resort in Bumthang

Loved our stay in Bumthang at the elegant and spacious Samyae Resort. This 3-star property has 30 rooms including cottages and suites, a restaurant, bar, lounge, conference room, garden and a prayer wheel - all sprawled over a large area. It has great views overlooking the Bumthang valley while being at walking distance from the Chamkhar town. We stayed in a posh double room for 2 nights. Even though it was off season, the manager came and welcomed us himself and showed us around the property. Very warm and friendly demeanor. They are attentive and caring. Just fantastic! Not too expensive as well. Great value for money.

Cozy place in Bhumthang

Great place

I enjoyed my stay here at Samyae Resort. It's a great place, it's in a great location (just a short walk to the center of town), and to top it all off, the woman who runs the place is wonderful! The food was also very good, I opted for Bhutanese food only.

Needs improvement

Our short stay here left us very dissatisfied and disappointed. Fairly small rooms with limited heater facilities, a very patchy Wi-Fi connection, non functioning geysers ( we had to use the adjacent bathroom), no room service, no intercom facility, a very limited menu for both lunch and dinner, and a generally unhelpful staff made for a very forgettable stay. This property really needs to improve a lot to stay relevant in the very competitive tourism industry.
