Hotel with stunning art

I titled my review with Hotel with stunning art , correct in my humble opinion. It’s mainly wood carving and reflects some quite difficult subjects ie the hard live the rural people of this area had to endure.
Ok the Hotel is old and outdated big it’s got charm and I hope it doesn’t change.
The breakfast is very good and the staff are great.
It was chilly here in January and as typical for many Portuguese building not overly well heated , but ask for an extra heater and go sit by the roaring fire !
Ps it’s not expensive what’s not to like.

One night stay

Very nice hotel serves well the purpose of staying one to two nights, comfortable room. With air conditioning Good mattress. And very friendly people with some services around the hotel that can be seen on foot. We really liked the experience. Thank you until next time.

Very cosy hotel. Very nice and warm with great fireplace and book collection. Very nice receptionist. We will come back!

In need of extensive renovation

A hotel in need of extensive renovation. The sound insulation is very bad and there is no double glazing in the outdated sliding windows, as in addition to the noise from the adjacent rooms, you can hear all the noise from the street, especially from a nearby cafe where drunks go until 2am without letting anyone in. rest.
The staff are helpful and there is free parking nearby, although Arganil in this area has been a real shipyard for 2 years, according to what we were told. I won't be back.
