ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!
Great place: beautiful, gorgeously landscaped and maintained, great food, outstanding service.
If I could I’d hire Viviana in a heart beat and I could get rid of 3 or 4 chair warmers in my office. She is a true one woman army: she is everywhere doing everything at once, fixing rooms, cleaning windows, cooking wonderful meals... She keeps that place immaculately clean.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Great for couples since kids are not allowed, take your wife...(or your secretary!)...

The worst travel experience
1. The room for more than 2 people was completely dirty, it does not correspond at all to the photographs they present.
2. The staff is rude. They treat you as if you were an intruder, since it seems that the guest must adapt to their schedules and what they want. There is only one breakfast option and they bring everything cold. Once, the man said that there were no oranges and that he had to go to town to buy them.
3. The jacuzzi was not working and was just as dirty as the pool.
4. The outside common room was dirty, with cobwebs and the vases had wilted flowers from a wedding that had happened about 4 months ago.
5. From 7 at night they turned off all the lights in the place, as if the guests did not exist and they had to adapt to the workers' schedules.

Beware: they will take your money and move you to their inferior sister property
We booked this hotel via our travel agent as part of a tour to Colombia. We chose it ourselves and the agency kindly agreed to book it on our behalf as it wasn’t on their preferred suppliers list. Given our experience we can understand why.
We arrived on a short flight from Medellin and were driven to the hotel by the local representative from our travel agency. On arrival the hotel looked nice and the grounds were pretty so we were happy with the choice. We started getting our bags out of the car when a woman came out of the kitchen and started discussing something in Spanish with the agent.
After a short time the agent explained that the hotel had cancelled our booking. They gave the reason as being that they could only take family groups due to COVID. Note: we were a couple not a family and there were no such restrictions at any other hotel we stayed at so this was clearly a lie. The agent had paid 5 days before our arrival to secure the room and the hotel had never advised the agent of the cancellation.
The hotel advised that they had moved our booking to their sister property, Hotel Campestre La Tata in Montenegro, 45 minutes away. This was a cheap tatty tourist resort complex. We instantly knew we had been taken for a ride. The place had no charm and was quite frankly vile. We were shown two rooms. They were disgusting. One had dead flies all over the bathroom sink. Neither had been cleaned in an eternity. The wiring was loose, windows and doors had plastic panels and the condition of the walls and furniture was simply awful. We refused to stay there.
Our agent ended up having to try and find an alternative herself which was a challenge as this was a peak holiday period. The Tata owners apparently couldn’t care less at this point and offered us nothing as they already had our money. We ended up staying at a small Finca which was ok but certainly would not have been somewhere we would have chosen ourselves so this put a cloud over our stay in the area.
Given the challenges within the travel industry at present we were shocked by the treatment we received at the hands of the owners of this property. We suspect they sold our room to locals and as we were foreigners felt they could shaft us.
If you are thinking of staying here, we would advise you to avoid it as the owners are dishonest and you have no guarantee of a room even if you pay in advance.

Family Vacation
La Tata has the most beautiful view from the pool side but the house is situated in a large plantation style ranch. You can walk the grounds and will have view from everywhere. We stayed in the family cabin in the front of the house but took morning walks and hung out by the pool to enjoy the views.
We were greeted by Yefry on arrival. We were the only ones there at the time. Room was pleasant, very clean and very spacious. There is a small fridge with a few items for purchase.
Viviana is in charge of the kitchen and housekeeping. You can place your order for dinner and she will give you a time that it will be ready for you to come and dine. Food was great, everyday we ordered something different and she was fantastic at preparing everything. Breakfast was great as well, fresh OJ, fresh fruits and eggs however you want them.
We spent 5 days at the La Tata. The house is pretty much in the middle of nowhere so you will need to hire a driver for the days you are there. I emailed the hotel before our stay and Orley as at the airport to pick us up and he also drove us to all the places we visited. Very professional and conscientious driver.
We visited, Parque del café on our 2nd day. We visited Recuca coffee planation, highly recommend, great time there. We visited the botanical garden and butterfly sanctuary; very nice time, the kids loves it. We went to Valle del Cocora, a must!!! and on the way back Orley took us to Salento, a must as well!!! all beautiful places. I have a 6 and 17 year old and they both enjoyed all of the places.
overall a 5!!!

Beautiful views and incredible service!
We had an amazing time here. The staff was great, the food was delicious. The house is stunning and the views are surreal! Close to attractions but if you’re looking to just relax this is the place. The bats at night time are magical!
