Beautiful resort in Cabuya

Beautiful grounds that lead to beach.
Well maintained pools with areas to lounge and enjoy cocktails.
Seating near the beach where drinks and food can be served or people are welcomed to just lay on hammock and enjoy the beach. During the evening there are hung lights.
All employees were polite and eager to make you comfortable.
Food was delicious and breakfast was free to guests.
The owner, Matt is always around and happy to help make arrangements for transportation. quad rental and answer questions.
Room was very clean, comfortable with daily cleaning service. Our shower was outside bathroom, was beautiful, private and had warm water (most hotels in Cabuya have cold water only showers)
This was likely the fanciest resort in Cabuya and very affordable.

Delicious food

We only ate at the restaurant but the food was absolutely delicious (get the pescado calala - fish with an amazing passion fruit sauce). The setting was lovely and service was prompt. I would definitely explore staying there if I came back to the region!

Nice, tranquil get-away!

If you look for a nice and quiet get-away, I would recommend Calala Lodge at any time! The place is s bit „secluded“ and the road there is bumpy (but totally do-able), but you get rewarded with a nice tiny house, hammocks, the sound of the ocean and great food. What really stood out to us was the friendliness of the staff! Cristian and the Belgian guy (we didn‘t get to know his name) were great, we felt very welcome. Also the owners of Calala Lodge answered all my questions very quickly and helped us book tours. We were also able to go in our rooms much earlier than our announced check-in time which was a relief after the journey. As other users mentioned: it is not the perfect place to swim in the sea (other beaches nearby may be better), but you can still chill at the beach or pool. 100% recommended

Great experience

We had a ground level bungalow with a view through the palm trees to the beach, all very directly in nature, the monkeys made their siesta in the trees above us. Beach rather rocky. Very friendly and accommodating staff who also pointed us to animals. Food also very good

great family stay near Cabo Blanco

Myself, my wife and our two kids had a great stay at this friendly and rustic place on the southern Nicoya Peninsula. Near Cabo Blanco amazing hiking and wildlife.
We loved the relaxing pool and grounds at Calala Lodge. The cabins were comfortable and clean. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating.
