Good value

Clean modern rooms. Very nice mattresses. Secure parking. (I didn't try the restaurant). Friendly staff. Convenient location. TV and aircon. Strong free wifi. The only negative was that there was no hot water in the shower. I paid a lot less that the price advertised on TA. I had room 7 which was ground floor at the back of the property - no street noise.

Amazing food

Was in town for a couple of hours and was looking for a good place to eat. Definitely one of the best restaurants in cañas, the lomito and the nachos were out of this world. Excellent service and very reasonable price. 100% recommended

Truly Extraordinary Staff

We visited this hotel and found it a typical low tier hotel. We have no previous experience in this town and so have nothing to compare. One unfortunate thing was the lack of hot water in our room.
During the visit, I became so seriously ill that it was necessary to cut our trip short and go home. The folks here helped by finding a reliable taxi at a reasonable charge for the 130 mile run to the airport, by allowing my wife to SE their only desktop to make flight changes, and even made hot chicken noodle soup!
I will never forget this level of kindness.

We found Hotel Canas in a Lonely Planet guide, where it had quite good description. We needed to stay a night in the area after visiting Llanos de Cortez waterfall, so we decided to go to Canas. Hotel is average. Rooms are old, not renewed a long time, very tiny, with specific smell of old place. Some rooms are bigger, but they are facing a noisy street. Hotel is located in the centre of Canas, but city itself is not very interesting.
Breakfast is not included in the price. Parking place is an advantage.

basic, clean hotel with excellent restaurant - friendly, cheap, perfect

I stayed here one night while travelling through and was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms are simple and clean and situated in a backyard, so eventhough the hotel is very centrally located, the rooms are very quiet. In low season my room (withouth aircon) cost USD 20 (without breakfast). Three stars only to the room quality because it was very basic - bed, desk, chair, tv, rack, bathroom - nothing for lovers of luxury bur sufficient.
To the hotel is a small restaurant with some 20 seats, food was excellent for a good price, somewhat higher than the average local lunch shack (20 USD for a whole dinner including drinks and breakfast). Service is excellent and very friendly, the restaurant especially is professionally and elegantly run - I appreciated basic things like the heavy weight cutlery, nice tablecloths and very attentive service, things you don't always find when travelling. On top, the hotel lounge/ restaurant are a comfortable place to spend some waiting time reading the newspaper or browsing the internet or avoding the noon sun.
If Canas wasn't such a small city with virtually nothing to do, I would certainly stay another night.
