“Do you want outside the Alps?”

“Do you want to go outside the Alps?”
A very nice hotel in a charming city. The welcoming and friendly staff create a homely atmosphere in the best traditions of Alpine hotels. The views from the window are amazing. Feels like you're in Bavaria or Switzerland.

An OK place to stay in a fantastic area

The hotel is very close to the centre of Mestia, with the other side of the coin being dogs and raucous people on and off in the night: not ideal for light sleepers. The compensation it has comfortable (although small) rooms, is friendly and a good jumping-off point for the fantastic experience of being in Sveneti and for more local attractions such as the superb museum. Breakfast is fine and they have discovered porridge. They are expanding their enterprise, so the rooms may be larger in future.

Easy walk into the village center

The Old Seti has the potential to be a great low to mid-priced establishment for singles or couples who seek a bit of comfort. They are not there yet.
They are priced mid range for the accommodations in Mestia, and I felt generally the rate was ok.
Room was satisfactory. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was reasonable, shower was hot and the whole hotel was clean. Breakfast was available, pre-cooked and limited. The owner / manager on site is friendly and speaks English.
The downside for some is that there is no elevator, and noise carries easily throughout the hotel. I was woken up by the sounds of a party or an argument at 2:00 am, which went on for 30 minutes, with no apparent effort of management to resolve. One last important point, the hotel was cash only! I am not so sure why I had to give my credit card details to the booking site!
The location was very good, although if not for a good update on Google Maps, it would not have been easily found. It is close to the village center and although advertised, the free parking is a generous statement, as there is really room at the hotel for 1 maybe 2 vechicles, after which you are on your own. Village square is not that far away, and as long as you are not dragging large suitcases, you will be fine.
I will give them another try on my next visit.

The photos lie, overpriced, and not safe for solo females!

The photos that they show when you are booking the room are not the same as the room you get. I booked a double room, which from the photos looks like it has big windows, a balcony and lots of light with an incredible view. What I got was a dark room with no balcony, poor lighting, without the view, and not like the photos. I brought this up with the staff and she said the photos were of the triple room. I brought this up with booking.com that they showed photos of the triple room fort the double room and they said there was nothing they could do.
Then, the night watchman, who was probably drunk, knocked on the door late at night and walked in with a carafe of wine, refused to leave, and tried to kiss me until I went out into the hallway and eventually he came out. Not safe for solo female travelers!
Not worth the price! There are other places around that are much nicer work better views and for much cheaper!
Good location.
Does have breakfast.

to be recommended

Located in the center of Mestia. The owners sent a car to the main square to help us with the luggage and to show us the way.
The room very spacious with a nice view. Very clean.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. They helped us to organize transportation to Ushguli and even invited an authentic choir for us.
They also have a very lovely and friendly dog - Bari!
