Dirty room and racist manager

During check‑in, the manager demanded an official document proving that I am the father of my two underage daughters, even though their passports clearly show the same surname, the same address, and my signature with the mention “father.”
He justified this request by referring to a supposed child‑protection law.
My daughters are mixed‑race and I am white, and I strongly felt that this unjustified suspicion was based more on prejudice than on any real regulation.
The mother of my daughters had to urgently send a copy of our family record book so we could access the room.
After checking with the French Embassy in Seoul, we confirmed that this requirement is completely illegal: a passport is an official document and is fully sufficient when traveling with one’s children.
Finally, the photos shown online do not reflect the current condition of the hotel.

Considerably good deal for the price and the size of the space. The owner and staff are really helpful offering directions to a local supermarket that is open 24 seven and also a fruit stand that has the best strawberries in town. They also offer fried chicken ordering directly to your room. Often times the AC and other tools are hard to use, but they have already created instructions that they will send to you through WhatsApp. This is a great hotel for any tourist that is travelling alone or with other others. However, if you’re accustomed to a more modern aesthetic in a hotel, you may want to book it elsewhere since you do get what you pay for. It is however far better than a guest house.

Past its prime, but a comfortable enough stay

Mixed feelings about this guest house, but it was a satisfactory stay. The owner is lovely and I have factored his excellent service into my rating. The location is very good: 5-10 minute walk to the subway and lots of food options nearby. Room was small, but contained a massive television, almost the size of the entire wall. Our room also had a desktop computer.
What prevented it from being a good stay:
-4pm check in. Standard for Korean guest houses, but in this instance it seemed to be a bit of a cash grab. We were less than two hours early and were offered a room, but only at extra charge.
-Limited toilet paper. We were given half a roll for three nights. Although toilets do have a bidet.
-No toiletries in the room beyond shampoo and body wash, although these can be collected from outside the lift on Level 1.
-Very late cleaning service (~4pm). I suspect they prioritise departed guests' rooms, as we had usually finished our outside activities by the time we got a knock to clean our room.
-The rooms and the common kitchen area have seen better days. Everything still functions, but it feels like it was an amazing place to stay when it first opened and not much has happened since. The staircase between levels 2 & 3 was either never finished or is undergoing repair as the underlay is exposed.
-Room entrance is poorly designed. Very limited space to take off shoes.
