Good with communicating via WhatsApp till we arrived. Since it is located in a private property and no direct transportation- we took the bus closest to the Hanok and he picked us up from there. He also informed us about the Mask Dance at the Hanok Village and offered to drive us there. The Korean traditional breakfast the next morning hit the stop and made our stay feel authentic.

We absolutely loved our stay here, and wish I'd booked two nights instead of one. Staying in such a beautiful historical house was truly a special experience! Of course you sacrifice some modern comforts as they didn't build en-suite bathrooms back then, but I was honestly impressed at how comfortable it was: the room was small but we slept beautifully in the futon-style beds, waking up refreshed to soft daylight drifting in through the paper screens. The bathroom is in a separate building but completely modern and very clean. The owner was extremely kind and helpful, and gave us the best restaurant recommendation of our two-week trip. Please make sure you check your Expedia messages as he tried to contact us before arrival to help us get there, and I didn't realize until later because my notifications were off, but thankfully he reached out over Whatsapp as well. The home-cooked Korean breakfast was delicious and very complete. It was truly a stay that we'll remember for a long time, as it became part of the experience that made us love Hahoe village and Korea!

This was an incredible stay and easily one of the most memorable places I’ve ever experienced. The house is right next to Hahoe Village, and the owner was kind enough to pick me up from the village ticketing office, which made arrival very easy. I have multiple food allergies, and he was extremely thoughtful and careful, preparing breakfasts that I could safely eat without any issues. That level of care meant so much to me.
The house itself feels like stepping into a history book. It’s very traditional, with beautiful paper walls and clear signs explaining the historical significance of the place, which made the stay even more special. Everything was spotless and very well maintained. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the atmosphere was peaceful and authentic in a way that’s hard to describe.
There’s also a cute cat that followed me around during my stay, which was such a sweet bonus. You can walk to the cliff in about 10 minutes, and there’s even a small beach you can walk down to nearby. Waking up and being surrounded by nature and history at the same time was unforgettable.
If you’re looking for a truly traditional Korean experience with a warm, caring host and a stunning location, I can’t recommend this place enough.
