This is a lovely establishment with beautiful antique furnishings, a well appointed large and beautiful bathroom and all the conveniences of a room suited for travelers.
The management was helpful and kind and the diner where we breakfasted was
Convenient and enjoyable.

Not a traditional bed and breakfast experience

My stay in Room 210 had both positives and disappointments.
The biggest highlights were the spacious bathroom and the ample parking, which made arriving and unloading very easy. Renee, one of the staff members, was exceptionally attentive and responsive. When we discovered the mini refrigerator wasn't working, it was replaced promptly with a brand-new unit, which I greatly appreciated.
That said, there were several aspects of the room that affected our comfort. The bed and pillows were much too soft for our liking, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The bed was also unusually high, and a small step stool would have made getting in and out much easier. The room only had one chair tucked into the corner, making it awkward for two people to relax and talk since one person had to stand or sit on the bed. The chair itself also lacked seat cushioning and wasn't comfortable for extended use. I was also surprised that the room door did not have a deadbolt, which would have added an extra sense of security.
Although the bathroom was impressively large, the shower enclosure could use improvement. The glass shower door didn't seal well against the wall, allowing a significant amount of water to escape onto the floor. After each shower, I had to wipe up the water to avoid leaving a mess.
My biggest disappointment, however, was that this property is advertised as a bed-and-breakfast. Having stayed at nearly a dozen bed-and-breakfasts, this was the first one where breakfast was not served on-site. Instead, each guest receives a $5 voucher to use at a local restaurant. While supporting local businesses is a nice idea, it wasn't the traditional bed-and-breakfast experience we were expecting.
I also missed having a common indoor gathering space where guests could relax and socialize. There is a wraparound porch with a few rocking chairs, but during our stay it was extremely hot and humid. A few outdoor fans would have made the porch much more enjoyable, as I've experienced at several other bed-and-breakfasts.
Considering the nightly rate, I expected more in terms of amenities and the overall guest experience. In fact, we stayed just a few miles away in a private cottage for the same price, and it offered considerably more space, privacy, and amenities. That comparison made it difficult to feel this property provided good value for the cost.
Overall, the staff's excellent service—especially Renee's attentiveness—and the spacious bathroom were definite positives. However, the lack of an on-site breakfast, absence of a communal indoor space, several room comfort issues, and the overall value for the price made this feel more like an inn that partners with a local restaurant than the traditional bed-and-breakfast experience we were hoping

Decent hotel in walking distance to all the fun in Gettysburg. The hotel isn't quite ready for primetime. They don't really have a dedicated staff, employees seem to just come over from the diner that owns the hotel when needed. We have no regrets staying there for the price but wouldn't rush back.

No one was at the property to let us in and check us in. Had to wait over 10 min and make 2 phone calls before someone came. Twin bed broke when sat on to go to bed at night. Took over a half hour for someone to show up and over a half hour for it to be fixed. Had 3 adults on reservation and only 2 towels for showering. No one was around to ask for more towels. I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone
