What a cool old hotel. Lots of history in this building. If you’re a light sleeper, I recommend the ear plugs because the train is super loud.

Would not recommend, ever.

While the lobby looks cute, our room G1, was terrible. Sink peeling, tiles coming off the bath/shower wall-- if you are tall you will need to duck to shower and stoop over to wash your face in the sink... yes, I know people were shorter 200 years ago. Our "suite" only had a window unit air conditioning unit in the living area, so no way to cool the bedroom. Would never advise anyone to stay here, regardless of your love of old buildings or history. Also, the noise level on the back is very high with a train running along the river.

Fantastic location and pet friendly!

We stayed in a historic queen room (#307) for 2 nights midweek mid-July with our pup. Enjoyed the view of train station below and river beyond. Bed was very comfy. Bathroom is small, with a separate small sink area in the bedroom, and the shower worked well. The air conditioning worked great which was appreciated during the very hot days. Location is fantastic. Reception was very welcoming including a great treat bag for our pup. A note about parking: the hotel recommends the Mt Hood Railroad lot located 1 block from the hotel for $18 per day. We used street parking (8a-6p) with the ParkMobile app. It has a 3 hour max but no problem adding more time. The whole town is in the same zone. During our 2 night stay we had 5 ParkMobile charges totaling $17.50 so we saved half and there was no problem finding street parking right near the hotel. The pet fee is $25 per night and we were a bit miffed by a daily “Amenity Fee” of $9.00 (plus tax to make it $10). We were offered one beer or wine on arrival and there was coffee in the lobby but would prefer to not have those extra fees. Because of the ideal location we would definitely stay here again.

There is no car parking for this hotel. You can park on the street and street after 6 PM to 8 AM next day. Otherwise $1.25 per hour.
This hotel has a very rustic feel. There is no fridge coffee maker or microwave in the room stuff can accommodate with hot water and ice cubes.
