Unbelievable experience. Such a quaint boutique hotel (you stay in Mansion). Artwork is incredible, food was delicious, staff overly accommodating and lodging what you would expect from older luxury boutique hotel. STAY HERE if you’re in town. Close to Herman Park, Dakain Stadium , lots of great restaurants and bars.

Birthday Celebration
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with kindness and warmth. Jenny (who was at reception) was charming and engaged us about the property and its amenities. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite and welcomed with champagne!! Dinner at Tonight and Tomorrow was delicious and the setting sublime. It was only a one night stay to celebrate my wife’s birthday, but we enjoyed every moment.

Exceptional Experience
We stayed in a suite in the tower for our 55th anniversary. From the moment we pulled up to the hotel to when we left it was an awesome experience. It was a nice surprise to have fresh flowers, wine and a nice welcoming note in our room when we arrived. The staff could not have been better, our room was excellent, as were our cocktails in Bar 3, our anniversary dinner that evening and breakfast the next morning. The complimentary glasses of champagne our waitress brought to our table when we were seated for dinner was another nice touch. We plan to stay there again for our 56th

Overpriced Airbnb with a pool pass
Issues:
1. We were told at check in that coffee and waters were available on the second floor and we were shown its location. When I went to get cream for my coffee on my first morning, I walked upstairs to get cream, where I was confronted by another guest who told me she had rented the whole building for a wedding party and the coffee bar was not for hotel guests. I was mortified. I checked again on my way downstairs and no signs were present indicating it had been rented for private use. (The following day, they did have signage up.) Nor was there a second coffee bar. I told the staff what happened and how embarrassed I was. Their reply was that I could order coffee from the cafe. This response glossed over the issue which was that there was no signage to indicate the party and that there was no alternative site for coffee and cream. And no one likes being shamed for getting coffee from exactly where I was told to get coffee at a 5 star hotel.
2. There were 4 cheap creamer cups with the Keurig in the bungalow. If we wanted more creamer or actual milk, we had to walk a full block to the mansion. (It would have been appreciated if the bungalow was stocked with better and more coffee supplies or a coffee bar on the first floor of the tower was made available to bungalow guests.)
3. We were advised to valet. But the valet delivers the car to the mansion, so again, you have to walk a full block to get to the car. Not ideal. Also, the intersection you cross to get to the bungalows has no protected crosswalk, so to get from the main property to the bungalows, you either cross at 3 crosswalks or cross unprotected.
4. It rained heavily for much of our trip. There were no umbrellas in the bungalow. To get the coffee or cream, we had to walk a full block across an unprotected intersection through puddles in the rain to get anything from the main hotel. There should have been umbrellas in our bungalow, along with enough cream for multiple cups of coffee.
5. The hotel cleared the expense for the whole stay to the card I used to reserve the room, and cleared the same amount for the same room on a different card I left for incidentals. I emailed twice with a concern about double billing but no one responded so I had to go to the front desk. Could’ve been an email.
Pros:
The bungalow is cute, the bed was comfortable and the pool is really lovely. Also, staff was extremely nice.
Overall, this felt like an Airbnb stay with pool access, not a 500 a night 5 star hotel.

Once again, a flawless stay! They were super conscientious regarding my allergy (commercial detergent) issues. They remembered all of my requests from previous stays and exceeded all expectations. Great size room and convenient central location to all of the best Houston attractions. We’ll return soon.
