Highly recommended

Lennetta at the front desk is AMAZING! We stayed at the Renaissance Meadowlands for my daughter’s wedding. The hotel experience was wonderful because of Lennetta. Our family also felt the same way about her. She is an absolute joy to interact with. You are so lucky to have an employee who goes out of her way to make people feel welcome. The rooms were nice and very clean. I recommend staying at the Renaissance Meadowlands.

Don’t stay here if possible

This was one of the worst stays I’ve had at any hotel. It first started with them pre authorizing my card multiple times and when I called the front desk agent was very nasty. The demeanor he started off the call with should’ve let me know how the stay was going to go. We checked in and asked for towels and stuff at the desk and was told they did not have any and they would be brought to the room by the housekeeping I asked two more times after that intial time and 3 hours later I still never got them. The room I was given was dirty and mold in the window and in the shower that messed with my allergies but they couldn’t accommodate moving me because there was a sports team there. All of that to say I will never use or recommend this specific hotel ever. This was my first and last time.

Unsanitary!

Im disappointed to have to write this review because I’ve stayed at other Renaissance hotels and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. However; due to the gross, unsanitary experience, and the lack of efficiency from management to alleviate my issue, I would be remiss not to say anything.
My husband and I stayed the weekend here. The staff was friendly and the hotel seemed suitable, however, to our dismay, when we were packing our things to check out, we found rodent droppings behind the pillow! I felt sick to think about the fact that we slept here the entire weekend with droppings in the bed.
We told the lady at the front desk and she responded, “We do not have mice here,” until I showed her the pictures I took of the droppings. She was apologetic and told me someone from management would reach out to me and maybe compensate me for my issue.
I waited 72 hours and nobody called or emailed me. So I filed a formal complaint online, in hopes the matter could be addressed without me making a public review. Someone finally reached out to me today, however, it was pointless because she told me, “Our housekeeper has been here for years and we hired someone to do a thorough inspection, and I’m not saying I don’t believe you but their findings reported no signs of mice.” I asked her if I could send her the photos and she said it wasn’t necessary because she believed me but then insists again they don’t have mice and they wouldn’t know how “that got there.”
I became offended because it seemed as if she insinuated I’m either lying or brought it myself. Unbelievable! I asked her if it wasn’t mouse droppings, could she explain to me what it was, at which she replied she would have to review the report and call me back. I won’t hold my breath given the poor communication management has already shown. And this is a terrible way to handle such an unsanitary situation. I will not ever be coming back to this location.

Out of touch

I'm severely allergic to feathers. I make it a habit of texting the hotel Ill be staying at in advance to request a feather free room. I did that with this property. They responded and told me that they will take care of it. Once I got to the hotel, I went to my room. I started to work on a report immediately. Then the itching started. The shortness of breathe. Then the bumps all over my body. Im like what the heck is going on. Then I approached the bed and realized there were not 1, but 4 feather pillows. I called down to the Fr9nt Desk. It took almost 3 minutes before they answered the phone. They told me they would put me in another room. I gathered my belongings and was going to head to the lobby, but she told me to wait in the Concierge Lounge on the 9th floor. The Lounge was technically closed. The employee was embarrassed to tell me. We started talking and she then went downstairs to see if they had prepared my room. She returned to tell me that I would be in a room on the 2nd floor. When I realized that she was wait8ng for me to leave, I told the girl in the Lounge that I would wait in the lobby. Close to 1.5 hours later, I'm still waiting. I finally was fed up amd asked why it was v taking so long. The response was the.maid only speaks Creole Spanish and she couldnt communicate with her. She finally gave me a key to the room. I had to take Benadryl twice just to stop the itching. Needless to say, it was a horrible experience. I did not sleep well and the constant itching was unbearable. To add I sult to injury, the person at the front desk never bothered to see if the maid was done and essentially had me sit in the lobby over an hour. Who's to blame here? The General Manager. You don't get a free pass. Train your staff. Ensure that they can communicate with one another. If I coukd give them a minus number I would. The pain I felt constantly itching my self could have been avoided. Do better.

Stay away

Horrible service. Check-in was a weird experience. Although I had checked in online, no room was ready. The guy seemed to try to convince me to take a room with a view. Turns out the room had no view and was not in great condition. As it was very late and I was tired I let it go. In the morning, as a platinum member was told breakfast was at the "lounge". Most disgusting breakfast with dry left ovet egss. When asked it there was more eggs staff replied with indifference . Stay away.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Please accept my sincere apologies that your stay did not meet the expectations you rightfully have as a valued Platinum Elite member.
I am sorry to learn about the confusion during check-in, the condition of your guest room, and the disappointing breakfast experience you encountered in our lounge. The level of service and hospitality you described is not reflective of the standards we strive to provide. Additionally, I am particularly concerned by your comments regarding our team's response to your breakfast inquiry, as every guest should be treated with attentiveness and courtesy.
Your feedback has been shared with our Front Office and Food & Beverage leadership teams so that we can address these shortcomings and reinforce our service standards. We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention, as it helps us identify opportunities for improvement.
Thank you again for your candid feedback. We hope you will consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide the quality experience you expected and deserve.
Sincerely,
Michael Lindblad
General Manager
