Criminal Activity at Deluxe Inn - BEWARE - Falsely Advertised

My wife and I booked a last minute stay at Deluxe Inn while we were in Savanna. Do not be fooled by the photos and other reviews. You will be staying in the back of the property in section 8 housing. We looked at the room for one minute and fled - drug use and prostitution in the parking lot, evidence of bed bugs, a hole in the wall, filthy room, and “neighbors” living at the motel with their laundry displayed outside. We were charged $113 for a place that should be condemned - it was filthy and unsafe! Upon letting the employee know why we were leaving, she told us that she understood and wouldn’t be charged. The manager charged us the full price and stated that the motel has a no refund policy - lol what a surprise! Additionally, you cannot contact the motel as the number is disconnected at times / goes straight to voicemail with no callback. Do not stay at this motel - it’s a total scam and falsely advertised. I filed a complaint with BBB and they said they have over two dozen complaints about this site.

One of the most disgusting places I've ever seen in my life. This place shouldn't even be advertised in expedia, but they have very lower standards and that we did not know that. We only needed a place to sleep for one night, and there's a enormous difference between being a low rate motel and being a disgusting dirty place. How's that place not reported? It should be considered a health hazard

Hotel Stay

The rooms at this property are ok. I stayed in a room that was $65.00 with tax included. The room was clean but for $65.00 there should have been a complimentary breakfast. The location of the hotel was not the best. Other than junkies walking around it was ok. I would not stay there if you have children with you.

You literally get what you pay for

So the hotel is pretty on the outside.. but kinda looks like it is in a questionable neighborhood. The cleaning staff are non existent. 2 very thin ratty towels and washcloths. 1 roll of toilet paper. The inside of the rooms look ok look renovated to a point. New counters new 12 inch til on the walls and floor of bathroom. NO OUTLET in bathroom..the room smells of smoke. We bought Fe breeze and sprayed our curtains and ac it helped.
The shower curtain had stains. And wasn’t really sure the shower was cleaned as far as the walls or around the shower head. Appeared to be toothpaste? Maybe?
The floor in the room looks like new wood laminate but needs a serious mopping. Will leave your feet and socks black. Dirt and crumbs are everywhere. House keeping did not really service our room on the 2nd day we were there. Just brought 2 new thin towels and washcloths and more toilet paper at least but left the bed as is.. the bedspread is very thin (like another sheet )and has holes in it.
On positive note the AC works great. About froze to death the first night. lol..
no pool. Which is not advertised anyway my mistake.
I thought about trying to get another hotel closer to Savannah historic district but they all are around $200 or more a night so I just dealt with it this time. Nothing we could tell had stolen in our bags and my car did not appear to be messed with this time.. but we were in fear that it would be carried a pistol just in case the whole time.
The owner and wife? Seemed very nice and accommodating, I think the motel Just needs a lot of TLC it looks like they are trying to clean it up
The walls in the rooms need paint terribly. Mirrors on the walls full length kinda strange but didn’t really bother me.
One of the nightstand outlets didn’t work either to be able to charge my phone.
Overall it wasn’t horrendous but you get what you pay for. I’ll pay a whole lot more attention when booking next time to the proximity to the main part of the city and just bite the bullet and pay the extra $ for a nicer hotel.
Enjoyed Savannah though

Your first real review.

I am a single mom. We take short weekend trips as often as possible, and we were finally able to run away for some fun after several months of being stuck at home. I chose this hotel bc of the price first and foremost, and second, the pics online were great, not to mention the reviews seemed great. My kids and I came by the lobby as soon as we got to town after driving 5 hours. I ended up standing in the tiny little lobby for half an hour as the employee and a person who is apparently living there argued over the sudden rate increase and pet fee. I finally managed to ask him how late I could check in, his reply was “anytime, you’ve already paid for the room”. So we left and went to Tybee and River street for the remainder of the day. It was around 10pm when we got back to this “lovely little place.” It was at this time I was informed they not only charged me for the room but that they rented it to someone else. So basically, Friday night I was sitting in a dark parking lot in a scary part of town trying to find a room I could afford while stifling an anxiety attack as this is the first time we have ever run into any issue on a trip..... especially not the kind of issue where we basically got screwed. Thank the lord for Days Inn just down the road! Not only was it a LOT nicer inside, I didn’t feel as if we were going to get mugged and didn’t feel like my vehicle would be damaged in the parking lot. In all honestly, I’m glad it happened bc I highly doubt we would have been sleeping much that night anyway.
