Great hotel in a great location!

Hotel Indigo in Silverthorne was a fantastic choice for our Colorado vacation. We stayed here while attending a concert and doing some hiking as part of our two-week trip through Colorado.
Everything about the stay was excellent, from the check-in experience and parking to the hotel restaurant and our room. The location is also ideal, with several restaurants and bars within easy walking distance.
I asked the front desk for a dinner recommendation, and they suggested Sauce on the Blue. It turned out to be an excellent choice and was only about a three-minute walk from the hotel.
Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend Hotel Indigo Silverthorne. We definitely plan to stay here again on our next trip to Colorado.

ExtremelyTerrible Customer Service, but very nice room

First, I will say that the physical building and rooms are a 5. The balance of the experience was aweful.
The front desk told me no rooms were available at 2:30 PM, which was understandalbe since policy is 3PM check-in. Except a person walked in off the street and was given a room while I stood there at the desk. The woman at the front desk took my cell and said she would call when the rooms were ready. She never called. We went back at 6:00 PM. We were given keys to two rooms.
Unfortunately, one of those rooms was not made up and it was obvious.
When we asked front for a new room that actually was cleaned, he seemed insulted. He asked if we were sure it wasn't made up. Then he asked if we were having a bad day.
I thought maybe an " I am so sorry, let me take care of this" might have been a more appropriate response to the situation. Maybe a discount or even a cup of coffee for the inconvenience might be appropriate, but that was not in the playbook.
I tried to post this on the IHG review page, but they claim they have no record of my stay.
I would also tell you there is a free parking garage across the street. Ask for it when the desk trys to charge you $15.
Finally, I thied to call there nine times after we left to inquire about the $250 incidental charge that was still pending after 5 days. Nine times over 2 days before anyone would answer. And an unanswered email sent to the General Manager whose initials are KG.

We ended up not being able to stay at your hotel. We were lucky an employee cancelled the reservation without charging us. We showed up and there was no parking and no way for us to get into the hotel. With the festival going on everything was blocked and all the spaces were taken, we had two infents in the car crying while we drove around forever and could never get to the hotel. We had to stay at a different hotel. We were lucky to find a room.

I expected more from an Indigo

Overall, it was fine. Lots of annoying minor issues, some safety-related, some related to the front desk, but nothing horrible and I don’t need to go into them here.
Although this property is branded as an “Indigo” it is not as upscale or polished as other Indigo properties I’ve stayed. It’s more at the level of a HI Express or Staybridge, especially considering the quality of the construction, furniture, and finishes (eg black painted metal that is chipping, stains on carpet). The rooms are small. The windows do not open but the HVAC was adequate. My room had a mini-fridge (no freezer) and a Nespresso machine. No microwave.
The hotel is in the middle of a very dense new development, surrounded by condos, a parking garage, and retail. The fourth side faces a busy street and looks onto the restaurant/bar patio.
As a Diamond Elite I asked for an upgrade and was denied. It was mid-week off-season and they were almost empty, but the clerk said the better rooms weren’t clean, even though it was late afternoon. For my Diamond welcome amenity I received a $10/day food or drink credit. It could be used at the hotel’s mini-grocery, or at the attached restaurant which is not part of the hotel. (Or I could get 600 points.) There is no breakfast here, except for the restaurant.
Parking is free in the garage across the alley. There are many restaurants and pubs within walking distance and buses to resorts are a short distance away.

Hi Arcadia_R,
Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed and candid account of your stay. We genuinely appreciate the feedback on everything from the room finishes to the surrounding area, and we hear you on the gap between what you'd expect from the Indigo brand and what you experienced here. The concern we want to address most directly is the matter of your Diamond Elite welcome amenity and the upgrade request — these are meaningful benefits, and we want to make sure they're delivered in a way that reflects the appreciation you deserve as a loyal IHG member. We'd welcome the chance to speak with you about this more directly and make it right; please don't hesitate to reach out to us at +1 970-485-6262.
Sincerely,
-Hotel Indigo Silverthorne

We stayed here for four days. When we checked in the bathroom mirror was dirty. The next day it was not cleaned and I reported it. The following day our room did not get cleaned at all, and on the last day the beds were changed and we got clean towels, but the bathroom was still dirty. Other than that, the room itself was nice, the beds were comfortable, the Fitness center was good and the pool was nice. There was free parking, which was great. A really nice coffee shop across the street.
