Fantastic views.

A haven of peace and kindness. This is how this place can best be described. Dear Cretan family who put their love and bliss into their apartments and food. The views are fabulous. Beautiful setting sun and from the restaurant you dream away looking over the sea. The food is great, everything fresh and prepared according to ancient Greek methods. For this money, you're not going to find it better anywhere. There are private beaches and pedal boats are available. The private beach is one of thousands. We are in love again left from this place to Paleochora.

The most amazing little hotel

This hotel feels like a dream. It is absolutely stunning, and the food is amazing. The hotel is family run, and it feels so welcoming and homely. The beach is fantastic, and it was so nice to be able to use the canoes.
The staff here make all the difference. They were so kind and friendly.
I want to come again!!

GEORGE, FILIO AND NECTARIUS HAVE ME FEELING I AM MY HOME...

10 DAYS IN THE MACHEL... I FELT I WAS WELCOMED BY FRIENDS... AMAZING PLACE. INCREDIBLE VIEW... AND THE CARE OF THE MEN OF THE MACHALES HAVE MAKED MY DAYS THERE INFANTILE... AS FOR HER FRIEND'S DOLOMITES, I HAVE NO WORDS... NECTARIE, PHILIP AND GEORGE THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE BEAUTY OF THESE 10 DAYS... SURE IN MY NEXT VISIT TO AGIOS ROMELOS YOU WILL BE MY ONLY CHOICE!!!!

Nice remote apartments

Nice remote apartments, located 600m from the Agia Roumeli village centre.
With nice beach and offering free sunbeds.
The free kayaks where also a plus though they were pretty old.
The apartments were relatively spacious with amazing view.
The balconies were nice though the chairs are not comfortable.
The restaurant served breakfast and lunch/dinner. Prefer fish or cooked food rather than meat.
It's a bit far from the village centre but the village itself doesn't have a lot to offer after all.
If you are very tired after crossing the Samaria Gorge, prefer to stay somewhere closer to the coffee center or prefer Loutro area for more nightlife options.
Last, the apartments offer air conditioning in one room while the other has a fan which is VERY noisy. Not convenient for the night.
A ceiling fan with low speed/noise would have been better.

To flee..

To avoid...bad reception, dirty room, broken sink, lamp with spider , unusable kettle smelling of oil, fan filled with unusable dust, electric hotplate connection with Scotch. And the worst is that to avoid a bad comment on booking this Mr takes the liberty of telling booking that we did not come for our stay and makes us pay 20 euros more for a 3rd person, so we paid 85+20 for 2 nights while on all booking sites the hotel is 41 euros for 3 people on this date. On the day of arrival, a person came to pick us up by car with a very dirty car, engine oil in the bottom of the trunk, stained seats. Ultimately it's better to go there on foot. frankly dishonest... So be very careful ⚠️ because we had rented a 2 bedroom apartment which apparently does not exist we were given a 1 bedroom apartment with 1 bed in the kitchen.
We know Agia Roumeli very well and will not return to this establishment paying more than 50 euros in this part of Crete in general it is luxury, there it was old, dirty, low-end. We don't recommend it at all.
