Best option in Makassar when travelling on a budget

It was the cheapest option I found in Makassar and for the money I paid, it was the best room i found within all the ones I was while travelling during a month around Sulawesi. Comfortable double bed, clean room and good location

Ok hotel but false advertising

The hotel is situated next to Fort Rotterdam and has a nice lobby and common area. The WiFi was reasonably stable and offered a speed of 1Mb. The Indonesian style breakfast was good but offered few options. i wasn't able to get any hot water out of the shower, but this might have been due to a lack of patience. The bed was comfortable.
This hotel notably promised a number of features that in reality didn't exist. The following things were falsely advertised for my room: Minibar, safety deposit box, and desk. The room didn't have a window, which wasn't mentioned on the booking site. It had a fridge (as advertised), but it didn't work.

Scary Rooms

The staff was very helpful but the building is very old. The room structures, furnitures and especially the toilet needs renovation. The rooms are dark and it feels like being in some horror murder movie.

Value for money

I found the hotel was ok. It was the cheapest we could find and it was worth it.
A clean room (although small and no windows) with running airconditioning, warm water. We only spend 1 night here. If you don't like the Indonesian breakfast it's no problem to ask for toast and eggs. Very friendly receptionist. Wifi was no problem.
It is very near to Fort Rotterdam (approx 5 min. walkingdistance) and close to the boulevard. We had diner at Kampoeng Popsa, just opposite of the fort. Many small restaurantlike shops which offer their specialties, you order at the counter of your choice and eat it somewhere in the venue.

Okay for the price

Hotel is old but I liked it, that's why it has a certain feeling. Room was nice and had warm water which was really nice since we hadn't had warm water in a month while traveling. Only negative things were the service atthe coffee shop and the cost of laundry service (about 2kg of clothing cost 326000rp). Other than that it was a nice stay.
