Few of decent options in Sibolga

There are not many good options in Sibolga. This hotel is a decent one, the staffs are helpful, and the location is great on the city center. However, the AC keep making strange sounds and leaking water. The food is less impressive. And the hotel looks a bit rundown.

Lost my things here

I lost all of my toiletries here. Contains of shower gel, tooth brush, and face cleanser (for the record, my cleanser was Cetaphil 250 ml with 80% full). I was staying 2 nights, and during day between first night and second night where the housekeeper came, they took it. I realised it at the night when I want to use it. Since it was very late, I asked the front desk the next morning. After a few calls, they said that the housekeeper throw it since they thought I already checked out. Really no sense since my bag, and some of my clothes still scattered around the room. They said the housekepeers worked in team that the one cleaning the bathroom didn't see that my things still there. As if they couldn't talk and asked simple question to the other. What a BS.

Holiday

I spent one night only. I enjoyed the services but i dont like the bed linen and pillow because they were quites dirty and smelly. The breakfast were good enough. The good about the hotel is the location because it is situated in the center of the town. As there are very few hotels in the town. So you can conside to stay in the place.

What is included and what is not!

From the street, this hotel looked promising compared to others we looked at around town before we eventually checked in here. We stayed for just one night and moved to another hotel. A few reasons why. Indifferent staff and little English spoken means a Google translate app comes in handy. Out of a bunch of possible keys to rooms..we were only allowed two choices...one on the second floor overlooking the petrol forecourt next door, with heavily marked sheets obvious...or a room on the third floor...a smoking room, with mould on the bathroom ceiling, walls marked and two internal windows to the corridor with thin curtains i.e no blackout drapes so the room is light as day at night. The floor above is an unfinished construction. The noise travels up the middle grand staircase...so anyone in the foyer speaking echoes through the hotel via the staircase..the sound of a museum. But it was a room and we were too travel weary to care that much. The room had no windows that opened..so with the air temperature outside and just the aircon coupled with mould on the ceiling in places...the room had that humid feel and damp smell you get with concrete construction. The bed was dry and the sheets though marked were clean.
On the plus side ..a flushing toilet but the seat, lid needed a good scrub, hot and cold shower with good showerhead...wait 5 minutes and the hot water comes through. A wardrobe but with no coat hangers. Bottled water and toothbrush kit...tv...the bed was comfortable and the pillows also...but the pillow cases yellowed and seen better days.
The breakfast for the premium room was to be included...but when we inquired about having the fruit juice and melon as per other diners...we were told NO by the manager. The fruit and juice were in the other room...and we were only allowed a choice from poor cooked breakfast selection of types of fried noodles sitting out on the table buffet style. Fruit was extra but not stipulated on the inclusions or exclusions of breakfast with room at check in. Hot beverage was tea with sugar...no coffee. We ate breakfast and had good coffee just around the corner near Sibolga Square. We also found another hotel for the rest of our stay in that area...half the price, cleaner and with a friendly hotel owner who runs a great coffee house underneath the hotel.
