Warm personal service!
Nice and special place in Lilongwe. Three nights during my tour, and three warmly and warmly received. Nice, spacious and clean rooms, great breakfast and for the evening choice of various delicious options. (Pumpkin soup is heavenly) Bunnies in the garden super cute. Like I was home. Very quiet, yet centrally located. Good wifi!

Cosy place in lilongwe
This was our first night in Lilongwe. A beautiful lodge with kind people and nice styled rooms. At a quiet area in lilongwe with a nice small swimmingpool.

Beautiful Locacion, Cleaning and Dining staff GREAT, however...
Lovely staff, but disappointing management and poor amenities
Mitengo House has kind, hardworking staff—especially the bar and cleaning teams—and is set in a beautiful, peaceful location. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by poor management response to feedback, unreliable Wi-Fi, power outages with unclear explanations, and a surprise $58 charge not mentioned when booking. There’s also no complimentary tea or coffee in the rooms, which is a basic comfort at this price. The manager’s hostile reaction to our honest review left a sour aftertaste that overshadowed an otherwise decent stay.

Hi Erika, thank you for your review and apologies for our delay in responding. We thought about what to say, because frankly, we're still baffled about your accusations. We've had several conversations with you during your stay, as well as through messages on the booking platform you used, and your complaints were inconsistent and kept on changing. Someone who only complains in a rude manner and isn't open to any reasonable conversation can't be convinced that the ''price difference'' is due to their own miscalculated exchange rate, that another wifi network is better than the one they connected to, that unfortunately we have to deal with load shedding (just like in their home in South Africa) but that back up batteries are installed for all the lights, and that the complimentary coffee and tea is available 24/7 if you know where to look. Just being open to instructions and guidance from our team upon check in would've avoided a lot of unnecessary frustrations. However, we are grateful that you were happy with the location and the team. Enjoy your future stays in other Lilongwe hotels!

Quite and lovely
Absolutely enjoyed my stay. Very quite and the staff were so friendly. The room was super clean and the hot water really hot!
