Great location/hotel - pool staff/cleaning routine was a let down
If I could do 3.5 stars that would have been my review. The hotel itself was lovely, the rooms were spacious and very clean, air con was perfect as you can set the temperature yourself and had two seperate settings for the living room and bedroom which was great. The reception staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Location is perfect as it’s central and everywhere we went was 20-30 minute journeys. There weren’t a lot of children which was quite nice, but also a range of ages from young adults to 50’s/60’s. No issue on noise levels at all. Our room was very quiet and we didn’t hear any of the other guests when we were going to bed at 9/10pm.
Unfortunately, the pool and the staff were not as expected. We were only there five days, and we are the type of people to get up early once breakfast opens to then sunbathe as much as possible. On the Tuesday, they were doing a deep clean of the loungers which meant we couldn’t sunbathe until gone 10am. We had to stand in the pool for two hours just so we could be in the sun. We weren’t the only people waiting around for the loungers. This could have been done the previous evening or they could have started earlier since they know the pool is meant to open at 8am. Also, you can’t get a towel until 10am so this was another reason we had to stay in the pool longer as we couldn’t get a towel for the lounger.
On the Thursday, they decided to a deep clean of the cushions for the loungers. This was appalling to be honest as they took HOURS to bring them back up to the pool. We managed to get two cushions around 11:30am which we took from the other side of the pool, but by 3pm there was still guests laying on loungers without cushions - they’re extremely uncomfortable without them and every time they brought clean cushions up everyone was fighting over them.
Lastly, on Thursday we ordered lunch by the pool using the QR code on our table which we had been using all week for drinks with no issues. I ordered the food, then 15 minutes later ordered drinks online. Drinks came, then 40 minutes later we still had no food. I went to the bar to ask if our food would be long, and all the staff were looking at the order receipts and could not find ours. One waiter said ‘you only ordered two coronas’ I said that was a seperate order, and I had to pull up my email receipt of the food we had ordered. They said they’d make it straight away - fine. The food then comes out (I don’t know how long after) and it was the wrong meal. I’m not a fussy person and I didn’t care it was the wrong meal as I still liked what they sent, however, the meal we wanted and had ordered was $16 and the one we recieved was listed at €9. I went back to the bar and said I will keep the food but can I be refunded the difference, they said they couldn’t. I asked if I could get 2 more coronas and just pay the difference (around $3) they said no, but I could have a cocktail. I accepted the cocktail because there wasn’t much else I could do but it was frustrating as we ended up eating around 2:30pm in the end and we had dinner booked for 6pm.

Excellent Holiday In Malta!
The Best Western in Buggiba is handy - just 5 minutes walking distance from the bus station if you're interested in visiting the sights and delights that Malta has to offer! The Junior Suites are very spacious with a great sized bed! Clean, comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast caters for all and so much to choose from! Really relaxing and inviting bar area with table football and pool table. Great entertainment - There's a singer on Wednesdays and Fridays. We would highly recommend the Best Western - Very happy with our stay here for 11 nights ☆☆☆☆☆

Lovely hotel
Such a lovely hotel. The rooms are so clean with great air conditioning. The pool has great views with a swim up bar and never felt overcrowded. The bars had great food and drinks with amazing service. Overall it was an amazing stay and would definitely recommend!

THE Best Western Hotel In Malta
What a hotel!!! Location is perfect!!! Not far from the main St Paul's area, its a quiet area, definitely recommend!!! The atmosphere is great, especially on the rooftop!!! And the room, wow, what a room, i had a Junior Suite and honestly the best hotel room ive ever had, and ive been to alot of places around the hotel, and its by far my number one!!! The rooms are very clean, and the hotel in general is very clean!!! The service is great, staff are very friendly and welcoming!!! The amenities, although i never tried them all, from what I did try they were all very good, pools, spa, restaurant, and a really nice lounge!!! And is it worth the money, 100%, id definitely book this hotel again, and I recommend yous to book this if visiting malta!!!
