i’ve traveled extensively through Mexico and have stayed in many hotels.
I chose this one for it’s rustic and local feel, with perfect location for ease of walking anywhere, a large room, and bathroom.
Two points to note; regarding tue shower - the water pressure was kinda terrible, the challenge of regulating temperature between the hot and cold was an ongoing challenge that I could not figure out.
The pillows need to be changed, they’re awful. The bed was comfortable. We had a balcony, which is wonderful. I recommend this hotel for any budget-conscious traveler looking for a central location.

The place is amazing, it was like staying in a museum. No breakfast, which we knew, but Id strongly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Puebla. Its really well located, too.

Good location, good service, convenient store steps from the hotel, clean room but in need of repairing things like the cover for the sink and floor drainage and new shower towels.
Be prepared, no elevator, no small fridge and no air conditioning (You can ask for a fan at the reception desk).

Unique and historic but could use upgrades

The room we were in (202) was the biggest room we’ve ever been in anywhere in the world. It felt like being in a museum. The downsides were that the bathroom fixtures were very old and water pressure was low - think a level above trickling, pillows were very flat and the towels were small, worn and frayed around the edges. It being a UNESCO world heritage site probably means that they are prohibited from making major upgrades but basic things like electrical upgrades would improve safety. Lamps connected by electric wire then taped is a major fire hazard. The room also had a persistent sewer or musty smell. Due to lack of AC, windows have to be open which invites insects and flies. At night there are two clubs with live music so be prepared to listen to dueling bands. The room is by the street, as was all the rooms we were told. Street noise is expected.

Every one of the staff members were kind and helpful. The location is impeccable on a quiet street one block from the Zocalo. I had the corner suite, top floor #202 (3rd floor American--walk up) with it's over-the-top colonial decor. There's a 24hr convenience store in the building around the corner. 100 restaurants within a few blocks, Amparo Museum close by. Hotel Casa de la Palma is pleasantly historic and a great value for the wallet.
