Homely @ The Homestead

This is the perfect oasis in Bloemfontein. The premises are filled with various self-catering units. The pool offer a respite from the summer heat. The décor is fresh and modern. Our en-suite room was elegant and well equipped. Safe parking. Braai facilities. Fabulous restaurant receommendation. I appreciated the excellent service and friendliness from Riaan. Ideal as a special stopover - or stay longer if you can!

Happy @ Homestead

I returned to this fantastic guesthouse with my friends. They loved it! Beautiful, spotless, comfortable, safe, well equipped, central - it is my ‘Happy Place’ in Bloemfontein! Riaan is an outstanding host. Ideal for the best stay in Bloem!

Our experience

What a pleasant surprise. One is never 100% sure what to expect when making a booking. The Homestead was definitely more than what we expected. The room that we slept in was named “Love”, and that is what we experienced. The room was very comfortable and clean. The reception was very professional and friendly. Ample parking was provided and after a long days drive, we had a good rest. Would I recommend it? – Certainly, without any hesitation. Would I visit again? – If in the area, no doubt.

Love Suite - Comfortable and Cosy

My first visit to Bloemfontein and I have to say the unit was comfortable, clean and very cosy. The beds were comfortable and after a long drive from Durban we had a good rest to drive to Knysna. This should definitely be rated a 5 star. Basic necessities were provided as well as tea and coffee with the most amazing rusks. The staff were just amazing and friendly. Thank you to Riaan for making our stay in Bloemfontein a one to remember that on my return I booked with you again. I would most definitely recommend The Homestead to others travelling to Bloemfontein or just passing by.

ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING - SHOULD BE 5 STAR!

My wife, granddaughter and I recently ended off our 3500km round trip with a night's stay at The Homestead by accident. And what a wonderful accident it turned out to be. Having originally booked at another venue only to be told at the last moment that they had a suspected Covid 19 incident and couldn't honour our booking. We Googled and luckily found The Homestead. Riaan our host thankfully sent us the 'pin' for the location. Just as well because the navigation girl was getting a bit lost.
Riaan was there to welcome us to his pride and joy and showed us to our Hope Suite. From the moment we entered the plush interior we were gobsmacked at the cleanliness and the luxury appointments. Nothing has been left out for the guests comfort, from the top of the range toiletries to the Jacobs coffee, aromatic filter coffee with plunger, to the 5 star class bedding. Had we had more time and had the heavens not opened up to a heavy deluge we would have made use of the BOMA area around the sparkling pool.
The bathroom was Hollywood style with its corner spa bath, two basins set in a
large vanity unit, shower and fluffy towels. The kitchenette boasted everything a traveller would need, even a selection of superior wines should you want.
Riaan you can be justifiably proud of your Homestead and being a pretty seasoned traveller I estimate that it would put a few of the 5 star establishments to shame.
If ever we are in the Bloem area again there is definitely nowhere else we would stay!
