Absolutely amazing. Way better than excpected.
Breakfast is outside of the hotel, but is literally glued to the building 10 seconds by feet. It's amazing. You have 220 ZAR to spend on JUNO if you want to look up on Google. You can get pretty much any combination on the menu including drinks. Very very good service and food. Timing is also amazing, working from 7-12.
Cleanness of the room was impeccable and very well equipped, specially the kitchen.
Balcony with a view was great.
The only concern was the neighborhood. Even thought is very well located and close to the beach, not a good place to walk at night. Good thing is that they have people 24x7 on reception.

The Tropicana ticked so any of our boxes

What a lucky find. We were let down on an apartment booking across the road - at the very last minute. I was, however, aware of the Tropicana which a friend had booked last year and were very lucky that they had availability for our 11 nights. And we were very comfortable and well looked after.
We had a one bedroom with the self catering facilities we needed. Spacious and spotless with access to streaming (we spent a lot of time in the room this visit).
We loved the quirkiness (art deco style of the building) and, more so, the friendliness of the staff.
Location is spot on. That does, however, mean it can be noisy. There is construction and traffic in the area, and sound carries. For their part, guests just need to be respectful in the passages at late (or very early) hours.
We spent a fair bit of time at the equally quirky rooftop pool. Great views, a few loungers and chairs, very small shallow pool with an infinity view and heated. Not hot - but too warm if you are looking to cool down. And a challenge to get in and out - its via a steep metal ladder of sorts. And for this reason our return visit/s will be timed for colder seasons.
We certainly do want to return, and thank the Tropicana Team for a super time.

There is no air-conditioning in either of the bedrooms only in the living room. Having AC in the bedroom would be a great improvement.

Rooms were niely cleaned everyday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool area is nice and the area around the hotel has many nice returants and is a block away from the Seapoint waterfront promenade. We were very happy wth our stay.
