Great Holiday, Much Needed rest
We recently visited Whalesong Hotel. We enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Rooms were clean and spacious. We enjoyed the access to streaming services. Staff were attentive and assisted with any queries we had. Thank you to the whole team.

A complete disgrace and definitely a 1 star ! Filth, stench and outright misleading pictures.
Stay away !!!! It is a complete scam. This is Faulty Towers !! This place stinks, is filthy and a complete scam. We left immediately

The stay was not a good experience for me and my friend. We expected a 4-star hotel standards of everything as it is said it's a 4 -star hotel. It was nothing close to that, no aircon but website reflects that there's aircon in the rooms. Everything about the room was below standard, coffee, tea sachets and at some point toilet rolls were not replenished in the room . No landline phones, we had to use our airtime to call housekeeping and Reception. No lifts and rooms are far from the Reception, not conducive at all. We feel like we were robbed, especially considering the room rate. We reported the issue about the food on one of the nights, there was no apology. We had to cut the stay one night short due to the above and more.

This hotel encourages the use of unregistered taxis
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in February -- We requested the desk order us a taxi.
When the car arrived it was not an "official" taxi and the driver requested 150 Rand for the short trip to town. All subsequent trips, for the same journey, in official taxis cost 80 Rand.
A 4 star hotel should not be placing guests in potential dangerous situations.

Not worth a 4 star rating
The staff did their best but they couldn’t offer a reason why, in high season, I was the only guest out of 33 rooms. Maybe word has got out about the corporate indifference of the owners.
The room was large but not air conditioned. The bathroom was recent, by the look of it. The electrics needed checking - I had to unplug the fridge due to the loud cracking from the socket.
Breakfast wasn’t bad, though as the only guest I didn’t get the option of my choices from the buffet, which, understandably, wasn’t laid out.
This was poor value for money, and I am still mystified as to how the establishment was rated 4 stars. 3 stars would have been generous for this once pleasant but now soulless establishment.
