Clamping Escape
Space & Layout (Perfect for Families)
We were a family of 5, and the tent was surprisingly spacious. It never felt cramped; the layout is very clever with two separate bedrooms and an open-plan living area. It truly has all the necessities you need for a self-catering stay, from a well-equipped kitchen to a solid en-suite bathroom.
The Deck & Views
One of our favorite features was the big balcony. It’s elevated and overlooks the beautiful property and forest valleys. There are deck chairs provided for relaxing during the day and a private fire pit right by the tent which made our evenings so special—nothing beats a braai under the stars!
Seclusion & Privacy
Even though there are other tents on the property, they are well laid out and secluded. You feel like you have your own private slice of the forest without being right on top of your neighbors.
A Note on Comfort
Aircon: This was an absolute lifesaver! It gets very hot in the tents during the day, and having the air-conditioning made it possible to retreat inside for a cool nap or a break from the sun.
Hot Tubs: Just a heads-up for future travelers—not all units have a wood-fired hot tub. Ours didn't have one, though we saw some other tents did. If that’s a "must-have" for you, make sure to specify when booking!
Summary:
If you want to be close to nature but still want a comfortable bed and a cold drink, this is the place. It’s well-maintained, scenic, and a great base for exploring Plett and The Crags. We will definitely be back!
