You need a car for this location.
But, the hotel is awesome especially for kids.
They have many play spaces, board games, and breakfast can be taken up in the hallway or brought to the room. Very nice home cooked warm meal, and very friendly kitchen lady.
And a very huge room and bath.Love my stay and will recommend this hotel.

EXPENSIVE MISTAKE
This was our first visit to Japan. After a long day of skied in Furano, we decided to visit the Fukiage Hot Spring in the evening to shower, sauna and relax. We moved from the hot spring late evening after finding no vacancy at the hot spring bed, thus we booked the A-Gate Hotel Asahikawa for four adults, including breakfast, via Trip.com. Than we began our drive through cold and snowy winter road to Asahikawa.
We were unaware that the last check-in time was 10:00 PM.
Once we realized, we became anxious and concerned, knowing Japan's reputation for punctuality. While the driving conditions were challenging—snowy, cold, dark and slippery which naturally prevented us from driving fast.
As we were running late, we made several attempts to contact the Hotel.
At approximately 9:21 PM, i called the hotel. Wei did had communication issue due to language barrier, we understood that no receptionist will be available after 10:00 PM, meaning we could not check in.
At around 9:32 PM, i sent an email to a-gate-asahikawa@ask-s.co.jp to inform our delay.
We arrived at the hotel at approximately 10:20 PM to find the front door was already locked. While there was a phone besides the door, nobody pick up. Facing freezing temperatures, exhausted, hungry we had no choice but to secure other accommodations before 12 am. Only later did I discover the hotel had sent an email to my private email, which we did not receive in time due to poor connection.
Despite several attempts to request at lease partial refund both the hotel and Trip.com have failed my request.
I must express my profound disappointment with this rigid application of policy without consideration as a human being. Our trip to Japan was otherwise wonderful, but this experience suggests that those rules can sometimes come at the cost.

Plenty of free parking at the hotel, the staffs are very friendly, easy and fast to check in, free drinks for the customer at lobby, room with excellent views, Will definitely come again. Thank you

It was comfortable and fun.
I stayed in a room with three beds partitioned. Each has a TV and an electrical outlet for convenience. In the space other than the bed, there were round tables with three chairs, a TV for everyone to watch, air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave and kettle. The common space is enriched with manga, ping pong tables, and rental games. I did donjara. Free drinks bar, snacks and cup ramen are available for a limited time. I was grateful for the drinks bar as it was a summer stay. Breakfast buffet is a small space but there are plenty of items. You can bring your own to the room. The problem is that the roads are dark and narrow at night, so you can't go out easily. There are no convenience stores around.
