We stayed at the one with open air bath and the room/private onsen was absolutely gorgeous with the perfect view of the ocean. Room was spacious and clean.
I am disappointed that they didn't offer shuttle service from Hakodate Station. I also did not like that they don't provide Yukata for an onsen hotel. They provided a pajama shirt and pants instead which is a let down. Their food was very mediocre. Everything was so salty and that sashimi tasted like it was about to go bad.

The breakfast buffet is excellent, but a bit too early to finish at 9:30am. The private hot spring is wonderful with the sea view. The room is spacious. There is free parking. We enjoy the stay very much. Just one thing, the house keeping tidy up my shampoo kit pack which I keep it well with my stuff, I think they need to be aware more what can be tidy up and what cannot. There is no staff in counter, e-check in and e-check out. I can’t call to front desk for complain. But the rest are good.

There is a old man at the car area that kept reminding me for two days to be careful not to knock into others car when opening our car door. He was worst on day two when he stood in front kf my car and watched me and my family open our car door as if I am under his discipline.
What kind of attitude is this? Is there a discrimination because we are foreigners?

Great private onsen with sea views

Stayed in a traditional Japanese style room with private onsen for one night on the way back to Tokyo.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
The room was confortable and the sea view private onsen is great. Loved every minute of it.
They even make up the futon beds if you want it.
The breakfast was amazing with so much choices from the buffet.

Exceptional oceanview room with private onsen

Stayed one night in September 2025 with family using frequent flyer points. Despite reading mixed, but great reviews beforehand, this hotel exceeded expectations with outstanding location and unique room amenities.
**LOCATION:** Excellent location in Yugawa Onsen district overlooking Hakodate Bay. Walking distance to streetcar station with restaurants nearby. Car rental recommended but public transport accessible.
**ACCOMMODATION:** Oceanside deluxe Japanese room with private outdoor bath was spacious enough for 3 people comfortably. Room's highlight is definitely the private outdoor bath with direct ocean views - absolutely spectacular experience. Could soak in hot spring water while watching Hakodate Bay anytime without crowds or time restrictions.
**ONSEN FACILITIES:** Hotel offers both private room baths and large communal baths. Main bath house features multiple bath types, outdoor baths, and sauna. Facilities show some age but variety of baths and amazing views to see Tsugaru-kaikyo compensate well.
**BREAKFAST:** Outstanding breakfast buffet with ocean view counter seating. Impressive variety including fresh seafood, Japanese and Western options, plus desserts. 8 AM dining had no wait times and food constantly replenished.
**SERVICE:** Smooth check-in/out with adequate explanations. However, hotel has several rental services (yukata, pillows, cushions) and amenities (lobby snacks including chocolate bars, face wash etc) that aren't well advertised.
**RECOMMENDATIONS:** Perfect for groups, couples and families wanting relaxing oceanside experience. Private room onsen eliminates crowding concerns while maintaining authentic hot spring experience. Highly recommended!
**HIGHLIGHTS:** Private oceanside outdoor bath, spectacular breakfast variety, peaceful location for unwinding, hidden services add discovery element to stay.
Would definitely return for the unique combination of private onsen luxury and oceanside tranquility. Usually private onsen costs a lot but this hotel is ranging fairly reasonable price. The room's outdoor bath alone justifies the stay - truly special experience watching ocean right in front of you!
