Wonderful, Traditional Minshuku

Stayed 2 nights. Received a lovely warm welcome from our hosts, despite very limited language crossover. Traditional minshuku and rooms, in a beautiful part of town close to the river. We had the larger room at the front of the building. Despite the proximity of the street it was very quiet. Comfortable shared bathroom and toilet, which nonetheless felt quiet and private and werespotlessly clean ( and this room had it's own sink).
In our tatami room we had comfortable futons and the usual buckwheat pillows, a telly, a heater and a kettle.
Breakfast was amazing - authentic, delicious home cooking
Highly recommended if you want a bit of real Japan

Good central location

We choose this place because it was in the old district. The accommodation is very good and the hosts are very friendly and helpful. It's a great area close to the tourist bus loop. Make sure you go to Kenrokuen Gardens early to enjoy without the crowds.

Recommend

The hostess was super nice - it's a home accommodation and you can see that they really do it with their heart. We could leave our bags in the hotel before check in. The are is superb - one of the oldest areas in Kanazawa, with all beautiful wooden houses and boutiques. The JR free bus stop is close and only 20 minutes on foot to the food market. The breakfast was home made and super good. Only problem was that the hostess didn't hear the doorbell and we had to wait a lot.

Excellent experience

We spent an excellent three days staying at this Minshuku. The location is excellent, surrounded by little restaurants, in the middle of the historic geisha district and close to bus transport or walking distance to most major attractions.
The staff were incredibly helpful, and we enjoyed the Japanese breakfasts very much. We plan to return to Kanazawa and this Minshuku will be at the top of our accommodation preferences.

Experience Japanese accommodation

Very big room for 3 guests to stay (triple room), very traditional Japanese guesthouse.
The owner was very friendly and helpful.
Minshuku Ginmatsu is located in the heart of the geisha district in Kanazawa, Free parking although the location is a bit hard to find and drive into even you have GPS. The street nearby is very narrow, when you are driving to the guesthouse, please be very caution and careful.
