The room is great and the hotel well located, restroom in the room is amazing but apart from that nothing else special in the hotel

My husband and I stayed here for one night during our first visit to Kyoto. While the location appeared convenient when we booked, we found that it was not nearly as central or convenient for sightseeing as we had expected.
Unfortunately, the accommodations were also disappointing, especially considering the price. Both the property and our room felt very small and cramped. The windows did not have adequate blinds or coverings, which made the room extremely bright, and the bed was very uncomfortable. We had originally booked a two-night stay, but after getting very little sleep the first night, we decided to move to another hotel.
Before making that decision, we specifically asked about canceling our second night and were told that we would receive a full refund for that night. However, when we checked out, we were only refunded the tax rather than the cost of the room as we had been told. This was particularly frustrating because we relied on the information provided by the hotel when deciding to leave early.
Overall, we felt this hotel was significantly overpriced for the location, room size, and level of comfort provided. The poor night’s sleep was disappointing enough, but the way the refund was handled made the experience even more frustrating.
Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not stay here again.

Quiet location for a great stay in Gion district. Walkable to a lot of locations. Staff is very friendly. The breakfast we're great fuel to start Kyoto adventure days.

A beautiful corner of Kyoto
This lovely hotel is on a beautiful quiet street near the subway in Gion. We were in the room on the ground floor which had sliding doors with a pretty little garden out the window. We opened the sliding door and listened to the rain. The hotel lobby had a delicious breakfast and a very sweet little bar. We walked along the river, and it took no time at all to get into a much busier part of the city. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Everything was spotless. We were only here one night, but would come back at our first chance. For the relatively affordable price, we felt like we were in the lap of luxury.
