Charming Authentic Experience

Wow!! This stay was truly the highlight of our entire trip!
The traditional townhouse was even better than the photos — beautifully designed, incredibly comfortable, and full of charm. The beds were wonderfully cozy, and the location couldn’t have been more perfect: a peaceful pocket of Kyoto just a short stroll from restaurants, convenience stores, and the train.
Every morning we were spoiled with a delicious traditional Japanese breakfast delivered right to us, and every evening we melted into pure bliss with luxurious soaks in the two private onsen baths. It was the perfect way to unwind after exploring the city.
From the moment we booked, the team went above and beyond. Yuki welcomed us with a tea ceremony and a thoughtful tour of the townhouse, and they were always available for anything we needed. Their warmth and hospitality made the experience unforgettable.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Staff was very hefpful. When we accidentally triggered the fire extinguisher, they were very kind to clean up the mess in Machiya very quickly. Location is also very convenient, walkable to Kyoto station

We are at this Machiya on our recent holiday to Kyoto. The host Yuki introduced the place to us and we got to make macha together.
It was a lovely place to stay and the outdoor bath was really nice especially as it is winter time now. It is located near Kyoto station and Gojo station. We also had the traditional breakfast which was delicious. Overall we were glad we picked this place for our stay at Kyoto and would highly recommend it!!

A fantastic place to stay. Tina did a superb job showing us the room and was super nice and helpful. The ceremony was fantastic! The room was flawless, the baths were incredible and amenities were fantastic. I will be staying here again and I can’t recommend it enough. Thank you Tina!

This was such a lovely break in the middle of our trip. The check in process was so thoughtful. Loved using both the indoor and outdoor baths. Highly recommend.
