Strictly guarded base

Kind of interesting experience. Should be 5 stars but is closer to 3. Nice Nigerian staff brings a plus, though. It is a bit far from everthing - surrounded by police and military academia. A myriad of security and armed military keeping an eye on us .... but still I got a feeling the security was lax. On the top of that, there were a lot of Chinese sneaking arounf ... they were even questioning my colleague about a purpose for him taking notes (they were for the meeting). A slightly original experience ... well, there are newer hotels now in Niamey....

Great hotel, friendly staff

Quiet and comfortable hotel with a great staff. A bit farther from the "center" then the other two big hotels, but the area it is located in is secure and safe enough to even go for a run in. The rooms were new and very large.

Stayed here on a business

I stayed at this hotel for quite a long time during an extended business trip. The local staff were very kind and friendly, however the Chinese management staff were not - they were not accommodating, not welcoming, and not interested in helping guests or travelers with any needs. The rooms were comfortable enough, but the beds were very hard. Because of booking issues and rooms that were blocked/reserved for other travelers, I had to switch rooms about 5 different times, and ended up staying in the "apartment rooms" in the back of the complex, where the Chinese expats lived. The food is expensive, and not very good. Breakfast was not included in the room rate, unless you stay in the "apartments" and the food was all priced at per diem rate (note: expensive). There is a pool, a fitness center, a lobby area with couches, a security.

1000€ cash stolen from the safety inside rooms!

I have been in Soluxe with two colleagues for our second stay in the hotel. The day of our departure 1000 euros cash have been stolen (500 , 200,300) respectively for each one of us. The money were in the safety inside our rooms! We went to the police but the hotel did not took any action and did not given any explanation why such thing may happen despite the cameras which may be used to identify who may accessed our rooms. We still have no answer neither from the police nor from the hotel.

Solux Hotel Niamey

Location is clean and well maintained, food is not that great unless you eat meat or like chinese food.
Amenties are excellent but the first room they gave me was smelling smoke and no one told me it's a smoking room eventhough I have specified a non smoking room
