An unexpected treat

River Road Retreat was a real treat: the accommodation, the surroundings and the hospitality of the hosts. Rebecca and Peter have created a luxurious and peaceful place to relax. We had a wonderful time at the Retreat and are grateful for Rebecca’s offer to supply us with hiking gear so we could walk 12 km through the amazing Abel Tasman National Park from Maharau to Anchorage.

Heaven on earth

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at River Road Retreat. Everything, absolutely everything, was perfect. The amenities of the luxurious accommodation, especially the kitchen, were outstanding. The interior is both beautiful and practical. The view is almost unparalleled—so stunning and expansive. The serene silence is something to cherish.
Last but not least, the delicious and healthy breakfast was exceptional.
In conclusion, this place feels like a little piece of heaven on earth. We would love to come back and stay even longer.

Best B&B in the south island!

River Road Retreat is a great B&B
Every luxury you can think of is present.
Wifi is fine! The surroundings such as house, garden and view is picturesque and very large with plenty of privacy offering garden net hottub . You really lack nothing.
The host and hostess Peter and Rebecca are always ready to ensure that their guests can enjoy themselves to the fullest.
A delicious breakfast with fruits from their own garden is provided.
We have already stayed at 15 different addresses during our tour, all good but this was THE BEST
Hospitality is in Peter and Rebecca's blood.
Had a great stay in the house!
