We loved it
The house is very pleasant, well decorated, and very well located. The service is excellent: professional, attentive, and discreet. Flawless in our opinion. The bar is very pleasant, and the relaxation room (reading, games, billiards) as well as the pool contribute to the charm of the place. Small, quality catering, which makes one regret a "real" restaurant.

Beautiful intimate establishment (almost) for everyone…
This establishment elegantly and tastefully combines the historical with the modern while maintaining its intimate establishment DNA.
With its "cocooning" lounges, its very pleasant breakfast area, the pool area almost "like at home," and a very central location within the village of Noirmoutier en l’île, you will have a pleasant stay, enhanced by a very pleasant and attentive staff.
On the other hand, if unfortunately your only means of transportation is a wheelchair, the establishment does not currently have the necessary arrangements to ensure a pleasant stay.
From the main entrance, a step prevents you from accessing the reception; you will need to enter through a side door (bar) and then pass through a lounge before reaching the reception.
The ONLY accessible room is far too small to allow for easy movement.
With its very narrow entrance hallway, movement around the bed only allows for the passage of very small wheelchairs, and it will likely be necessary to move the bed; a (period) rug on the floor will hinder mobility and can be dangerous. The bathroom, although of adequate size, offers a "cabin" shower that is far too small and, more importantly, does not allow access by wheelchair since it has a threshold of a few centimeters. As for the provided stool, it is not compliant and proves to be dangerous as it is very small and unstable…
After discussing on-site with the manager (who was quite attentive) and providing her with multiple suggestions, she acknowledged the difficulties and committed to making the necessary modifications (even if the size of the room will always remain too small).
We will certainly check to see if her commitments have been fulfilled.
In its current state, I advised the management to be honest about the situation during reservations for people with reduced mobility!

A REAL GEM!
A real gem in a lovely position below the Chateau and on the quay in the heart of the very attractive town of Noirmoutier L'Ile. Small hotel with cheery and efficient staff. Quiet. Nice room with balcony overlooking the pool. Heated pool a real oasis with plenty of sunbeds and drinks service. Breakfast very good with excellent choice and service. Parking outside and lots of good restaurants within easy walk. Recommended.

Excellent stay at the Hôtel du Général d'Elbée. Warm welcome and attentive staff.
We had an excellent stay at the Hôtel du Général d'Elbée during our visit to the island of Noirmoutier, in the municipality of Noirmoutier en l'île.
We occupied a very beautiful suite consisting of an entryway, large storage spaces, a bathroom with separate toilets, and a pleasant balcony offering a superb view of the pool and the castle.
Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the reception team. All the staff were smiling, courteous, professional, and attentive to our well-being. A special mention to the owner, very kind, whose management is reflected in the quality of service and a cozy atmosphere within the establishment.
My wife enjoyed a facial treatment during our stay and came out fully satisfied. The hotel also offers a quality bar service, with the option to be served in the room, by the pool, or on the terrace. Although there is no restaurant on site, it is possible to order a generous mixed platter, ideal for a moment of relaxation. Furthermore, nearby establishments allow you to dine without taking the car and for all budgets.
Breakfast can be taken on site in a very pleasant setting, facing the pool. Regarding the pool, towels are provided for guests, a thoughtful touch that is always appreciated.
We also appreciated the common areas, particularly the game room with billiards, chessboard, and other games, as well as the reading corner offering the day's news.
For parking, spaces are reserved for hotel guests. When they are all occupied, alternative solutions are available nearby, and the reception does everything possible to assign a space as soon as possible.
In summary, a charming establishment, perfectly maintained, offering impeccable service in an exceptional setting. We recommend this hotel without the slightest hesitation and will return with great pleasure during our next stay in Noirmoutier.

Perfect stay, beautiful accommodation and a lovely team. Our family suite, was perfect on the ground floor, giving easy access to the pool, which I would highly recommend..great spot from which to explore the charming village!
