Charming, comfortable room with good AC. Rain-type shower. Blow dryer in BR. Close to Basilica which is worth climbing all the stairs. Far from main tourist attractions but train is a 10 minute walk away. Highly recommend

The building and the rooms were such a positive surprise, actually way better than expected! We were pleasantly surprised by how well the French preserve their old buildings, and this one was no exception. The staircase utterly charming and the interior renovations done with respect for the authenticity of the building and with lots of originals details, like doors, preserved.
We were also pleasantly surprised that we had our own balcony! Everything was clean, the bathroom a little small but well functioning.

The staff were friendly and the location was great. However, our room opened up to the road (it wasn't actually in the main building, but rather around the corner) and the walls were quite thin, both of which leading to a lot of noise day and night. Plus, most of the lights in our room and bathroom stopped working part way through our stay. At times the light switches didn't work, but then at random times the lights would start flickering. We even had the lights in the bathroom randomly turn on in the middle of the night.

My 6 nights in one of the private rooms with a view was very good. The area is pretty quiet in the evenings and the Hostel is very central for walking and transport access to both Montmartre and the rest of Paris. Small elevator but it worked. For me - the shower/bathroom was fine. Room cleaning is every other day- which is plenty for me. There is a nice open terrace and a common room to relax in.
