Home from Home
John was always available and flexible towards my needs. I was staying there for the Ménigoute Ornithology film festival.
The bedroom and shared toilet and bathroom were clean.
I felt welcome - so I'll be back.
John is of English origin and speaks excellent French. As John lives and works in France he knows his way around the French systems.

Dishonest, poorly educated, dangerous accommodation.
Rented with family during a heatwave, mainly for the pool.
Upon arrival, be careful, a hole in the path was dug to repair a pipeline, it has been there for a long time apparently.
Then, do not be fooled by appearances, you are indeed in a vacation rental and not in an agricultural wasteland or a junkyard.
The pool is out of order, it is not the owner's fault, previous tenants punctured it, no excuse, no message in advance.
The windows do not open or close, the locks and hinges are broken, I had to dismantle two windows to try to ventilate.
Three bedrooms are equipped with French doors, but the previous tenants lost the keys, it is still not the owner's fault, who still does not offer any apologies.
The accommodation cannot be ventilated at night during the heatwave, and is therefore also dangerous in case of a fire evacuation.
One of the bunk beds has a broken ladder rung, always the same excuses... "it is therefore better not to let anyone sleep there" ...
The beds are equipped only with comforters, a sheet would have been appreciated.
The makeshift electrical network runs outside the house.
Everything seems patched together without knowledge, yet the building must have been beautiful in its early days.
A back terrace equips the two cottages.
For the larger one, part of the furniture is used to block off the collapsed section, and the terrace is equipped with a wasp nest.
For the smaller one, the terrace is unusable because it is too collapsed.
The electricity will be connected in the accommodation about 1 hour before your arrival, so the fridge will be warm.
The exteriors are maintained "partially."
I paid an extra fee to charge an electric car, which was agreed upon in advance; I had an 8A outlet, so it took 15 hours to charge to 40% battery.
In short, my children ended up not sleeping because it was too hot; one of them vomited and got heat sick, the owner does not know how to host and is dishonest.
After complaints, I received a fan for 5 people spread across 3 rooms.
Everything seems patched together without knowledge, yet the building must have been beautiful in its early days; the photos are not current.
Do not make the mistake like I did of paying the full amount in Wero in advance to simplify your life.
The rental is not expensive, but it is already a scam.
I strongly advise against it; stay away.
I should have taken photos.
It is not my habit to leave negative comments; this one is commensurate with the service.

Dirt (and scrap) friends, welcome!
My opinion is valid for the large mobile home in autumn but it gives an idea for the rest of the services offered:
I did not understand some comments (1/5) but in all objectivity, difficult to do worse:
Pros (which unfortunately are not enough to compensate):
- clean bedding
-the not unpleasant owner
Cons:
- unsanitary condition (smell of closed, high humidity in the air, in the morning all clothes are moist... )
- poorly maintained mobile home (some DIY but 2 doors out of 4 have a broken hinge)
-incredible state of dirt (floors, dishes and bathroom especially), shower impossible
- very unbucolic environment (a good ten wrecks just at the end of the meadow, visible from the windows)
- impossible to park near the mobile home if it rains because the slope to access it is a mud rink...
- dangerous terrace, without any regulatory protection
Cheaper than the others but honestly even for free I will not set foot there anymore! I invite you to view my photos that prove my claims.

Helpful owner, good price/quality ratio
We stayed with a very large group for a wedding, John is super accommodating and helpful. He was very thorough and helped a ton with the planning!
The region is amazing and there are tables outside so you can hang out with friends and be autonomous in the gite with kitchen and fridge etc...

Worst accomodation ever
The decking is rotten and unsafe with large holes and rusty nails hastily covered up with other garden furniture.
The swimming pool is in a huge state of disrepair and looks like hasnt been used for a long while.
There were rats in the gite, and the back door didn't close properly.
The owner John was stubborn and in denial and rude.
We stayed for 3 of the 7 nights and had to leave.
John has continued to be rude and not offer any refund (as paid up front).
Overall, a potentially lovely location of 10 years ago which has been left unloved, not maintained and under poor ownership. Fields of stinging nettles, sub-standard facilities, dangerous & dirty.
