Cheap and clean

It´s simple budget hotel with clean rooms. It is little bit far away from the city center and close to the industry area, but it was safe to walk at night and there is also taxi point across the street. Unfortunately the staff (from Romania) speak very poor English, but there is also man from Slovakia, so we didn´t have any problems.

Room mediocre, Super noisy neighbourhood!

The pension itself is alread overpriced.All in tulcea are. Ugly town, super expensive pensions and hotels generally, especially for romanian Standards. 21€ for a room which is worse than any 2 bed hostel room you will find in the balkans for approx. the same price, minus the kitchen! You would get filthy rich by opening a nice, cheap hostel there.
The room i stayed was small but clean, the bathroom old, working AC, but nothing fancy and also not very cosy.
The room really gets bad with the location because its relatively far away from the center and directly at a busy road. Good thing is you wont even hear the street noise because of the factory or whatever directly on the other side of the street, which will produce loud noise and prevent you from sleep all night long. The ironic thing is the note in the pension asking to keep your voice down at night XD.
The owner seems to be a nice guy though and speaks english good enough for everyrhing you might wanna need or ask.
Even for 10€ the noise would be a total no go but for more than 20€ this is absolutely unacceptable.

One stay!

Hi, the accomodations are ok, large screen TV, the towels are clear, bed sheets are also clean they smell nice but they do have some ... marks but for this price is quite ok.
The bathroom needs improvement, at first I thought it was dirty but it's just old and clean!
It's on the industrial street of Tulcea near the exit (It is quiet at night) but very far away from the centre.

Cheap, comfortable option. Bad location

The pension is one of the more accessibly priced options in Tulcea which is quite expensive compared with accommodation in Romania in general. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Staff is helpful.
The area around the hotel is not so nice and not very far from the more industrial part of town.
If you can afford better, I would pass. But if you're travelling budget this is a good safe option and the staff helps you make your stay better (cooked meals, help with boat trips...)

Pensiunea Nicol. Tulcea, Romania.

I booked in last Thursday & I have nothing but praise for this modest Hotel. Room's are clean & the price is good even tho' it is now the "off" season, plus they can provide meal's if you don't want to go out to a Restaurant, good home cooked meal's. The proprietor Mihai (call me Michael) speaks reasonably good English & it seems nothing is too much trouble. This would probably be a ** Hotel but I give it **** Jonn Lee.
