Very accomodating place to stay!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay and couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly.
The biggest highlight was definitely the staff. Every single person we interacted with was so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely happy to help. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, helped us with local recommendations, and made us feel so well looked after throughout our stay.
The restaurant was another standout. The traditional Sri Lankan food was absolutely incredible—some of the best we’ve had on our trip. Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and a great way to experience authentic local cuisine.
Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so enjoyable.
We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sri Lanka.

Far Below a 4-Star Standard — Terrible Room, Food Hygiene and Service
Very disappointing experience at Sundaras Sigiriya Jungles Cave Resort.
We paid around LKR 75,000 for one night after seeing it listed as a 4-star hotel, but the actual room condition was below even a one-star standard. The AC was not working, the sink was blocked, the shower and bathroom lock were broken, the fittings were rusty, and there was no TV or fridge.
We were not the only guests complaining that night.
Instead of a half refund, the hotel offered us a free meal the next day. We drove back for it, but the conditions were changed after we arrived. While eating, we found a housefly inside the food.
The Food and Beverage Manager did not apologise and spoke to us very harshly and disrespectfully.
The online photos also looked very different from the real room. We have photos, videos, booking proof and payment proof.
Based on cleanliness, maintenance, food hygiene and customer service, this was a terrible experience. I would not recommend this hotel.

Very bad and terrible experience
So bad, hotel in renovation - dirty and lot of noises. People do not listen to me if I need rest. They supplied wrong diner and they are very nervous about bad reviews. I had to sign a letter ….
Late check -in / door lock does nt work - etc etc
I booked 3 nights and Prepayment was required. When I would like to cancel 2 nights due to the noisy sounds till late in evening…still no response of my refund. Maybe today an answer?

Disrespectful Staff and Poor Management
We were due to stay for two nights but checked out after just one because of the appalling service and unprofessional behaviour from the Food & Beverage Manager and a member of the bar staff, Shaun.
We waited over 2½ hours for our dinner while other guests who ordered à la carte were served before us. No one came to apologise or explain the delay, despite us dining with our 6-year-old child.
When we raised our concerns, the Food & Beverage Manager walked away from us twice instead of addressing the issue. Shaun then told us, “We have 100 guests tonight, you’re the only ones complaining. I made your drinks, just be happy and go to bed.” This was rude, dismissive and completely unacceptable.
When we asked to speak to a manager before settling our drinks bill, we were threatened with being removed from the hotel. Staff later came to our room demanding payment and refused to remove the service charge despite the terrible experience.
We have never been treated this way in any hotel. Instead of listening to a genuine complaint, staff ignored us, spoke to us disrespectfully and resorted to threats. We felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome that we checked out the following morning, forfeiting our second night. A very disappointing experience that fell far below the standards we expected.

There was so many mosquitoes in our room. We got to change room, but had to spend the night moving. Also, new room had a very bad smell and was not maintained well. Very expensive room for the standard you get.
