Wonderful

Beautiful authentic colonial tea bungalow in the middle of tea plantations. Not a lot of rooms, so it feels very exclusive. Amazing garden, quiet & peaceful location. Lisha and his staff are very friendly and fulfill every whish. Great communication.
Absolutely delicious food - we ate there every evening and recommend you do the same! Lisha booked the tea tour for us with Rimaz which was great and very informative. Highly recommended. If you love hiking and beautiful nature s bit of the beaten overcrowded tourist path, this is for you!

A highlight - charming 140-year-old plantation bungalow stay

A highlight of our trip - if you want swimming pools and cocktail bars this isn’t for you but there is real charm to the slightly faded grandeur of this authentic, 140-year-old plantation bungalow. Homely and comfortable, it’s a delightful break from the main tourist trail. The staff are fantastic and the food amongst the best we have had. Set in a real, working tea plantation, it’s a very authentic experience. We also recommend doing the local Tea Trails tour of the tea factory, which is much better than the big tourist traps.
Be aware, it’s an old building, so a few creaks here and there, but that’s all part of the charm

Quirky old world with top service

The bungalow is a listed building , so though it may look a little worse for wear, it is being meticulously preserved for the future. Our hosts Ruban and Lishanthan could not have made more of a fuss of us, and were so kind and friendly. It had the feeling of a homestay in many ways, as there are just 3 bedrooms . Gunarathnam the chef cooked us up homemade Sri Lankan food for dinner and then explained how it was all made. We learned so much talking to the staff here, who felt more like hosts in a friend's home . It's quirky and the furniture inside is a little dated but the walks up around the bungalow in the tea plantation are amazing and if you fancy a proper hike, Ruban will take you in some of the pekoe trail. Don't expect 4 star luxury, instead you'll get homely comforts, the warmest of welcomes and chat and homemade food cooked for you . We wouldn't have missed it for the world. Beautiful experience

Absolutely to recommend, not only for the beauty of this colonial residence nestled in the plantations of you, but above all for the kindness and professionalism of Murali who organized us a wonderful tour of the plantations and the nearby village. Special thanks to our guide on this tour, Rimas who has passed on historical knowledge and ethical values that we should all know when drinking a cup of ceylon te. THANK YOU for the great experience you have allowed us to do.
