Best Host in Sri Lanka

This was our best hostel experience in Sri Lanka, the room was perfect and the bath was very clean. Just in front, there were an amazing public showers that we used several times also to wash our clothes. The host was amazing and he provid us many traditional meals just in order to be kind and generous with us, with any extra charge.

Trinish homestay

Place was 500m from the Hatton railway station so location was really good. Family was extremely friendly and helpfull and children were really nice. The host was TukTuk driver so trips from place to place was easy to organize and prices were reasonable. We got also the best Sri Lankan Rice and curry made by the family! WiFi was fast and room was nice and clean with warm water and large beds. I highly recomend to visit this place and get some real experience of Sri Lanka culture.

Heerlijk eten, schoon, tuktuktour met eigenaar en dichtbij het station

We hebben een geweldig verblijf gehad bij deze lieve mensen. Ga hier slapen als je een tussenstop wil maken op de route Kandy-Ella en/of de Adam's peak wil beklimmen. (Je kan vanaf hier met de bus of de eigenaar brengt je (tegen betaling) met zijn tuktuk).
De eigenaar kwam ons ophalen van het station. Het is ook makkelijk te lopen in ongeveer 7 minuten. De homestay ligt in het mooie en rustige deel van Hatton.
Je slaapt echt in het huis van de mensen, wel in een aparte slaapkamer, maar je eet in hun woonkamer. We verbleven in de kamer boven de woonkamer (volgens mij is er maar 1 kamer voor gasten).
In onze kamer stond een tweepersoonsbed en een eenpersoonsbed. Een hele ruime kamer, met leuk balkon en een eigen badkamer. Het enige nadeel dat we kunnen bedenken is dat het matras van het grote bed niet zo goed was en het bed kraakte.
We bleven 2 nachten en hebben alle maaltijden daar gegeten. Dit is echt een aanrader, de gastvrouw kan fantastisch koken en het kost bijna niets! (200-250 Rs voor 1 maaltijd per persoon, incl water, dit is ongeveer 1 euro.
Je eet ongeveer op dezelfde tijd als dat de familie eet, en dit is iets later dan we in (Noord)Europa gewend zijn. Ongeveer rond 20.30-21.00 uur. We boekten 2 dagen een tour met de eigenaar in zijn tuktuk.
De eerste dag gingen we naar een theefabriek, de Devon waterval en de St. Clair's waterval (2000 Rs, 10 euro, voor ruim 3 uur). De tweede dag gingen we naar de Aberdeen waterval (je kan hier in zwemmen), deze is wat verder weg, op de terugweg namen we een andere route dan de heenweg, en hadden we de mooiste vergezichten. We waren ruim 4 uur weg en het kostte 2500 Rs.
