Above and Beyond Expectations
I went to Aparthotel Marouco with 3 friends, and we all stayed in the same room. I must say we weren't expecting too much, since the price was quite affordable. MAN, WAS I SURPRISED! I've been to several 4-star hotels that are no match for this place. The apartment was super clean and well taken care of, well-equipped, the beds were good, the jacuzzi was a great amenity, but most importantly, the staff was phenomenal.
We didn't plan too far in advance, so we weren't the easiest guests to deal with. Still, Lucas (the host during our stay) always went above and beyond to help us, even with some unconventional requests ahaha.
The gentleman who takes care of the pool (sorry, we didn't ask your name) was indeed a gentleman, very polite and friendly.
We even got offered drinks (by a man who I think was the owner!?) while we were sitting in the Jacuzzi.
Simply put, fantastic experience overall. I would love to revisit.

They canceled our reservation
In my case, I cannot give an opinion on the accommodation because they did not give us the opportunity to go.
We booked 2 apartments 2 months in advance and 3 weeks before the check-in date they called us saying that due to a computer problem they do not have room for us.
It sounds strange from the start, but since I have no proof, I am not going to get into whether the reason was really a computer problem or not...
They offered to change the date, but as a group of 11 people, with our vacations already agreed upon, we do not have the availability to make date changes, as is logical.
What solution do they offer us? None whatsoever. They cancel our reservation, period.
Conclusion: the accommodation, as the party directly responsible, got rid of a problem with a single phone call and practically no solution.
Now we are the ones with the problem, as they left 11 of us stranded for no reason during the busiest season of the year...

Relaxed days in great surroundings
The approach to the hotel is well signposted, the reception friendly and familiar. The hotel complex is situated in a slightly elevated, quiet panoramic position. The rooms are individually equipped, with a bit of luck you have a great view south, over the river. The area offers many opportunities for sports and sightseeing. To relax there is a large sunbathing lawn, a well-temperatured large pool and a hot tub. Breakfast is rich and offers mostly local products. All in all great days at this personally run hotel - we are coming. I'm sure it will.

Great accommodation, very personal attention
On the Camino de Santiago from Porto to Santiago we found this beautiful complex and were delighted. Refreshing was the swimming pool and jacuzzi. Thanks to Josè and his wife who also showed us briefly the sights of the place (Monte de Santa Trega) in their private car. Wonderful breakfast - we went to the next stage stronger. Thank you very much again.

Wonderful weekend at the Maruco Hotel
My wife and me stayed for a longer weekend at Aparthotel Maruco, and we are happy about choosing this hotel!
the staff was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful – and we got lots of information about the region and local tips.
The room had a new interior, spotless, and very well-equipped with everything we needed.
The location is quiet and peaceful.
We missed nothing: WiFi, while pool outside, a big swimming pool, a big garden, everything very clean.
The Aparthotel Maruco surprised us positively and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely come back (for a longer stay)!
